It’s called Winter ❄️
Or in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) seen as a sign of cold affecting the Kidneys that creates a disruption in their function and energy.
Take this spate of icy windy cold winter weather, not just nipping the fingers and toes, but also penetrating the depth of our body, sapping the warmth from our organs, as it gets deeper still right into the bones.❄️
The kidneys are linked to our bladder and signify the Water Element in TCM.
Like your plumbing and pipes at home, they need lagging and heat to stay frost free, so things can move freely.
So get lagging, with multiple layers , woolly jumpers, scarfs, hats, gloves, boots and extra socks. 🧣🥾🧦🧤
Look how the icy weather impacts your back,it stiffens along with the knees both locking, ridged and less moveable. The kidneys nestle neatly in the low back and are vulnerable to cold exposure.
Also interesting to note..fear has the same impact on the body hence this emotion is said to make people freeze to the spot. 🥶

Did you also know in TCM the ears and hearing are governed by Kidney Qi…ain’t it interesting that Ears look like the Kidneys 👂 It’s almost like we are given clues about their relationship.
Now think if the Ears and kidneys are linked, cold can travel from the back of ears all the way down and in.
And “chilled” kidneys make your bladder go more frequently and without delay…🏃
Try listening to a conversation when the urge to go comes on. 🗣️ I bet you don’t remember much of the conversation, as you’re concentrating on holding on 🚽
So here at my cosy healing hub, there are lots I can do to help with the issue of the cold Kidneys….
I have been known to offer warming tea, fill a hot water bottle or two and fling a few extra logs on the fire. 🔥☕️
