My first off-line workshop on acupuncture for pain management, delivered on this past Sunday.

I was honoured to have the opportunity to talk about acupuncture for pain management for Taiwanese Women's Association of the United Kingdom (TWAUK). We talked about the TCM philosophy on treating MSK pain and the mechanism of the acupuncture channel energy through the lens of conventional medicine. We also practised some useful acupuncture points for pain relief. 👆💚

It was really a pleasure. Thank you TWAUK for the invite. Let's keep well and healthy together with TCM & acupuncture 🌱💪🏻

My lovely nephew just landed on Planet Earth yesterday! I'm so excited and already feel close to this beautiful creature as he responded to my "super power" a.k.a. moxa treatment a few weeks ago and turned his head down from a breached presentation!!

Yes. Being an acupuncturist sometimes mean you "work" during the holidays. Well, holidays = family time = loving time. And helping my family to feel healthier is how I share my love and care. 💫💫 This past Christmas holiday I've fixed a hip pain, a headache/dizziness, and turned a breached baby! (It was magical to see how the tummy moved after moxa treatment on One. Single. Point.)

Feeling so blessed to be of help. Feeling so amazed by how energy communicates.

"Welcome to the world, little one." From your mysterious auntie. 😉😉🎉🎉🎊💫💫

Feedback from a client who is always "waking up tired" and "eating just for survival but never with hunger or appetite."

It was so uplifting that by the end of this session she said she was hungry and was picturing herself cooking at home. And the following morning, these lovely message just lighted up my day.

My diagnosis to her was LV Qi stagnantion and SP Qi Xu. Which means, if to be simplified, high stress level and low digestive energy. So the treatment was about moving the stagnant energy, while supporting the digestive system. And by the end of session I saw a great smile. :)

In TCM, mind, emotion and body are inseparable and usually need to be treated together. And you probably wouldn't be surprised how stress can influence our digestion/sleep/pain/and more.

Is this you?

🥱 Waking up tired.
😩 No desire for breakfast.
👄 Eating with no pleasure.

So that's 1/12 of the year just flew by. How's 2023 treating you? Are you on track of your new year's resolutions?

If your resolutions include "being healthy/ healthier", (which I hope you do - cos what else matters more than health?) it's a good idea to check if the plan is working. If your plan is not happening yet, it’s worth examining it again with the following steps.

🧐 Step 1 - What does "healthy'' mean to you?

A specific idea will help you to define the meaning of achievement. So, swap “feeling good” with “get rid of the lower back pain”, “able to sleep through the night”, “bowel opens everyday” etc..

🎯 Step 2 - What do you need to do to achieve the goal?

Break it down into actions, take “get rid of the lower back pain” for example, you might need to be more active, check your posture at work, be mindful of how you use your muscles, aaaand… have acupuncture! ✅

🎬 Step 3 - Now, break down each action into atomic habits!

For example, being more active can mean 10 mins Yoga practice every morning after getting up; you can set up alarms to check the working posture every half hour....

Small changes and short term plans are always easier to execute, tiny achievements bring confidence, confidence brings happiness, and the list goes on.

So, happy planning!! And I wish you a very healthy Chinese New Year of Rabbit. 🐇🧧🧨🎊🧧🧨🎊🐇

Most of my clients came to me for muscular issues. In fact, pain management is what acupuncture is most commonly used for. But why can acupuncture helpmanage pain?

🕵️ Conventional Medicine perspective -

Evidence showed that acupuncture can trigger the release of endorphin and adenosine in the central nerve system through the stimulation to the nerves near acupoints, creating a rapid analgesic effect.

🕵️Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective -

TCM practice is based on the belief that a vital energy, known as “Qi”, flows in the
body following certain pathways, known as the “channels”. As the famous Chineseproverb explains, “Where there is pain, there is no free flow. Where there is free flow, there is no pain,” when the Qi does not flow freely in the body, there will be“dis-ease”. The acupuncture needles are inserted at specific points to unblock thestagnant energy, resulting in the free flow of energy, hence relieving the pain. (image:using a plunger to unclog the kitchen sink. :-))

Do you have muscular issues and wonder how acupuncture can help you? Please feel free to DM me to discuss your issue.

When was the last time you allowed yourself to be taken care of?

Sometimes all you need is to have a happy place where you can block all out and allow yourself to receive your own focus.

And that is how your own energy starts to heal you. :)

My favourite "decoration" in the clinic - my certificates of licentiate and BAcC membership! (Swiping left to see my second favourite. 😃🌱💚)

Surely they are more than just decoration and I reaaaaally worked hard to earn these two pieces of thin paper!

I'm a member of British Acupuncture council (BAcC). This means,

👉 3,500 hours (= 3 years) of acupuncture specific training at degree level and appropriate knowledge of Western medical science.

👉 400 clinical hours before qualifying.

👉 The practice needs to follow the strict code of safe practice, professional conduct, and complaint procedure.

💓 Make sure you are in good hands - choose a trustful Acupuncturist to take care of your health. 🕵️
