We care for 1 in 4 people in Merton & Sutton living with a life-limiting illness and their families.

Over 1,000 patients and those close to them benefit from our exceptional free Hospice care which costs us £6.5 million to provide every year.

Today, we are remembering all the mums and special people who have touched our lives. 💜

Flowers are being placed and candles lit at the hospice for everyone remembered on our Memory Wall, and our Reflections Room is open for quiet reflection throughout the day.

Mother’s Day can be a difficult time for many who are missing their mum or someone special. 💜

This year, you can share a message in their memory on our online Memory Wall. Every message will be remembered, and candles will be lit on Mother’s Day in their honour. 🕯️

Our Reflections Room will also be open all weekend if you’d like to leave a message in person on our Reflections Mobile.

We’re excited to launch our brand-new website! 💜

Our vibrant online home makes it easier than ever for our community to connect with us, find information, and support our hospice.

As part of the restricted capital funding from the Government, we’ve been able to enhance our digital presence with this website. As we’ve recently mentioned in the press, this funding is for building and infrastructure improvements only and cannot be used to directly support our care services – which we continue to need and passionately advocate funding for.

We’re grateful for this improved platform – to help patients, families, professionals, and supporters access information, make referrals, support our work online, honour loved ones, and stay up to date with our latest news and impact.

Meet Lizzie – One of our lovely Wellbeing Centre Facilitators 💜

Lizzie first joined St Raphael’s in 2019 as a volunteer, never imagining it would become her life’s calling. Today, as a Wellbeing Centre Facilitator, she brings warmth, empathy and plenty of laughter to everyone who walks through our doors.

Celebrating Chinese New Year at our Wellbeing Centre! 🐴🧧

We welcomed the Lunar New Year with a wonderful afternoon of creativity, crafting and designing our own Chinese candy boxes.

As part of the celebration, we also took a moment to think about our three wishes for the year ahead, sharing hopes for health, happiness and precious time with loved ones. 💜

Did you spot us on News yesterday? It’s been a busy week at the Hospice!

The segment, presented by Catherine Jones, highlighted the ongoing funding challenges we continue to face. Our CEO, Becca Trower, was interviewed, alongside a powerful testimony from Kelly, whose mum is being cared for on our ward.

Kelly shared: “Not everyone gets to come to an amazing place like this and live out the rest of their time with their family, sharing joyous moments, smiling, laughing, and crying; but most of all, having dignity at the end of their life.”

A massive thank you to Channel 5 News for giving us the opportunity to represent our sector, and shine a light on the importance and impact of hospice care.

💛 A visit from the BBC! 💛

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome the BBC back to our hospice. They spent precious time with a patient and her family, listening to their heartfelt experiences and seeing the real impact our care and support makes. Our CEO, Becca Trower, spoke about the challenges of funding our vital work - so we can continue being here for more families who need us, now and in the future.
