👨‍🍳 It’s International Chefs’ Day! 👩‍🍳

Today, we’re celebrating chefs all over the world, and especially the incredible culinary stars in our Aria Care homes.

Every day, our chefs create delicious seasonal dishes with warmth, care, and creativity. Their dedication doesn’t just nourish, it brings joy, comfort, and a real sense of home to our residents. We can’t thank them enough for the passion and excellence they bring to every meal.

Today, on World Food Day, we celebrate the food we serve, but also our chefs who craft seasonal dishes that ensure each meal looks appealing, and is healthy and satisfying. Aria Care's catering teams don't just cook food, they create meals that are nutritious, and reminiscent of home cooking. They plan meticulously, catering to everyone's tastes and dietary needs, using fresh, quality ingredients.

We believe that mealtimes are about more than food; they’re moments of joy, creativity, and connection, that bring our communities to life.

In celebration of National Baking Week, our residents rolled up their sleeves for a fun and friendly competition we called the Belmont Bake-Off!

Residents teamed up in pairs to bake and decorate their best cakes, putting their creativity, teamwork, and baking skills to the test. It was a truly hands-on experience, with participants involved in every step—from mixing the batter to adding the final decorative touches.

Fellow residents and staff joined in as judges, making it a lively event filled with laughter, teamwork, and, of course, plenty of delicious treats.

Congratulations to the First Floor Team, who rose to the occasion and were crowned our Belmont Bake-Off Champions!

After the judging, all the cakes were shared for everyone to enjoy, turning the competition into a wonderful community celebration. The event brought joy, connection, and a sprinkle of friendly rivalry to our Belmont family.

Exciting things are happening at Tall Trees Care Home in Shipton-under-Wychwood, near Chipping Norton!

Our 15 stunningly refurbished bedrooms are ready to welcome new residents! We think you'll agree, they're comfortable, elegant, and have that special Aria Care touch.

We’re celebrating with an open event this Saturday, 10am - 4pm, complete with champagne, canapés and the chance to see the new rooms for yourself.

A Slice of Home of Home Made Apple Pie 🥧🍎

One of our residents had a special request—she wanted to make her very own apple pie, just like she used to. Without missing a beat, our manager stepped in to help bring that vision to life. Together, they rolled up their sleeves, mixed, baked, and created the perfect pie—full of love, memories, and of course, delicious apples.

It’s moments like these that remind us it’s not just about providing care—it’s about creating connection, honoring traditions, and making every day feel like home. ❤️

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we're taking a moment to reflect on how we can continue to build a culture of care that supports not just our residents, but also the incredible teams who care for them every day.

One of this year’s themes is about prioritising mental health in the workplace, something we are deeply committed to across all our homes.

As the care sector continues to evolve, we’re introducing new ways to support mental health and emotional wellbeing, with support available to all colleagues, whenever it’s needed.

Whether it’s a personal challenge or a work-related worry, we offer access to a confidential counselling service 24/7 — by phone or online — offering a safe space to talk, day or night.

This World Mental Health Day, and every day, we stand together to support, uplift and care for one another.

Sharon has been recognised for her incredible commitment to greener laundry practices, supporting infection control and promoting resident wellbeing. Her efforts are helping us build a more sustainable future in care.

At Aria Care, Black History Month is more than just a date on the calendar; it’s a time to recognise, reflect on, and celebrate the incredible richness of Black culture, history, and the contributions that have shaped our communities, both within our homes and beyond.

Throughout October, our communities are marking the month in meaningful ways, with storytelling, music, food, conversations and shared experiences that bring people together.

We would like to give a warm welcome to our new Home Manager Maria Stancu .

Here’s a glimpse into her role at the home in her own words:

“As a registered nurse with 10 years of experience in the care industry, my responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivery, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and supporting both our residents and team in achieving the highest quality of care.

What brings me joy is the ability to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, no matter how small. Seeing residents achieve their goals, whether it’s regaining independence or simply finding moments of happiness, is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our team plays a part in their journey is priceless and fuels my passion for this work every day.

To me, ‘Care from the Heart’ means providing care that goes beyond the technical aspects of the role. It’s about empathy, compassion, and truly understanding the needs of each individual. It’s treating residents as if they were family, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and happiness are always at the forefront of everything we do.

I believe my impact lies in fostering a culture of compassion and teamwork. By leading by example and supporting my colleagues, I aim to elevate the standard of care we provide. In the future, I would like to further develop initiatives that strengthen team collaboration, ensuring our home remains a place where everyone thrives.”

Two of our incredible hospitality team members have been nationally recognised for their passion, innovation, and dedication to making mealtimes truly special for our residents

- Janos Csavas, Head Chef at Oaken Holt Estate, has won the Bev Puxley Award for his outstanding work in dementia-friendly dining and person-centred care catering.

- Paul Wright, Group Hospitality Manager, has been named Catering Manager of the Year for transforming care hospitality across our homes, leading brilliant initiatives like Aqua Burst, Food is Medicine, and Wise Up on Waste.

It’s Hospitality Apprenticeship Week, and we’re celebrating the amazing people behind the food!

This year’s theme, “Powered by People,” is a perfect reminder that it’s the skills, stories and passion of individuals that truly shape the hospitality industry, and that’s especially in care.

At Aria Care, our hospitality teams do so much more than prepare meals; they create comfort, bring joy, and support wellbeing in every one of our homes. And our apprentices are a big part of that!

Whether they’re just starting out or training to become future head chefs, we’re proud to support them every step of the way, with hands-on experience, ongoing training, and real career opportunities.

What a great afternoon we had raising money for Macmillan!
We also held a raffle and managed to raise £100.00 in total.
