September is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month - a time to recognise the impact of dementia, and to shine a light on the care, reassurance, and support that makes a difference every day.

At Aria Care, we know that living with Alzheimer’s isn’t just about medical needs – it’s about feeling safe, understood, and supported as an individual. Our teams, like Ethan at Thames View, take the time to listen, to reassure, and to provide care that brings comfort to both residents and their loved ones.

Because every moment matters – and it’s often the smallest gestures of reassurance that mean the most.

We’re celebrating some fantastic news at Aria Care!

Food means a lot to us; it’s not just about nutrition, but about bringing joy to our residents every day. That’s why we’re so proud to share that our amazing hospitality team has been shortlisted for three national awards by the National Association for Care Catering (NACC)!

A big congratulations to our finalists:

• Aria Care Hospitality Team – Catering Team of the Year
• Paul Wright – Catering Manager of the Year
• Janos Csavas, Oaken Holt Estate – The Bev Puxley Award

It’s wonderful to see their passion, care, and talent being recognised and we couldn’t be prouder.

Please join us in wishing them the best of luck for next month’s awards ceremony!

We don't have flavourites when it comes to something as serious as gelato, but if we did, it would be this delicious combination from Gelato Chipping Campden! Pistachio and White Chocolate?! Yum!

Our lovely friends at Gelato Chipping Campden - neighbours of Mill House The Cotswolds - have created something very special that's doing good, too; for every Mill House Napoli sold before the end of September, they'll donate £5 to Championing Social Care, a charity very close to our heart.

So what are you waiting for? Get yourself to Chipping Campden and scoop your gelato before it's gone!

Gelato for Good 🍦✨
This September, every scoop comes with purpose! 🤍

Throughout September, Gelato Chipping Campden are donating £5.00 for every Mill House Pistachio Napoli sold.

Pistachio is one of our most-loved flavours and this September it’s Pistachio with purpose! 🤍

We’re aiming to raise as much as possible to support Mill House & Championing Social Care and the brilliant charities they work with, including Care Workers’ Charity, Marie Curie, and Care Rights UK. ✨

Every Napoli sold = another step towards making a real difference in our community.🍦✨

So, grab a gelato and make a difference! 🤍🍦

We are delighted to announce that Southborough in Surbiton has been crowned this year’s Aria in Bloom champion. 🏆

The team and residents have transformed their outdoor space into something truly special - a garden that has something for everyone. From vibrant flowerbeds bursting with colour, to home-grown vegetables nurtured from seed, and planting for bees and butterflies, every corner has been carefully designed to bring joy and connection.

It’s not just about the plants, but the people. The garden has become a space for events, laughter, and shared moments - whether enjoying it on the lawn, from the balcony, or through the windows.

👏 Congratulations to everyone at Southborough for creating a space that celebrates nature, community, and accessibility for all.

👏 We’d also like to celebrate our runners-up, Kingsclear in Camberley and Southlands in Bexhill-on-Sea, whose gardens were full of creativity and inspiration.

📸 Take a look at some of the wonderful moments from the plaque presentation and the celebrations in the garden.

Good luck to our very own Chef, Nelson, who is competing for Aria Care's Chef of the Year Annual Competition.

We were joined at Belmont House yesterday by Samuel Armstrong, Regional Hospitality Manager, and Charles Wilkinson, Director of WaterADE, where Nelson showed off his remarkable culinary skills for our residents as part of the judging panel.

Nelson and his Team work hard daily to provide nutritious and enjoyable meals to all our residents.

The secret to great care? Extraordinary people with big hearts.

At Aria Care, we’re proud to support our teams with the training, guidance, and encouragement they need to grow - because when they flourish, our residents feel the difference every single day.

It’s about building confidence, creating opportunities, and celebrating the people who give so much of themselves to care for others.

At Aria Care, we are committed to delivering exceptional person-centred care by celebrating the individuality of every resident. One of the ways we do this is through our Resident of the Day programme at Belmont House.
This special initiative allows us to dedicate a day to each resident, focusing on their care, wellbeing, and personal preferences. Our dedicated team—including nurses, carers, housekeeping, maintenance, chefs, catering, hospitality, and wellbeing staff—works together to enhance their experience. So our residents chose to go shopping and use the self check out.

A heartfelt thank you to Paul!

This week, we’ve been celebrating our incredible chef Paul Georghiou, who is retiring after an amazing 14 years.

From creating delicious meals for our residents to bringing joy to our team, Paul has been a very important part of our family. His dedication, creativity, and kindness leave a lasting legacy.

We wish him every happiness in his well-deserved retirement – he will be very much missed!

Our homes don’t just welcome residents - they welcome families, friends, and loved ones with open arms.

We know how much it means to keep sharing life’s moments together. That’s why we invite families to join in wherever they can - from afternoon tea in the garden and lively activity sessions, to celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and those “just because” days.

It’s about laughter shared over a cup of tea, stories told across generations, and the joy of simply being together. In our homes, families remain families - not just visitors.

Because connection isn’t just important. It’s everything.

Celebrating World Photography Day at Aria Care.

Earlier this year, we launched a photography competition across our homes to capture the heartfelt moments of joy, love, and care that make our communities so special.

The winning photograph, taken at Albany Lodge, was chosen by our Media Producer, Marcus Gilbert. Today, Marcus visited the home to present the team with their prize – a brand-new Canon camera and a photography workshop – so they can continue to capture and share the many special moments that happen at Albany Lodge every day.

Home Manager Sarah shared:

"We’re so excited to have won the grand prize. This camera will help us showcase even more of the heartfelt moments in our home, and we’re grateful to Aria for giving us this opportunity. Our photos will now look more beautiful than ever when we share them with our community."

We can’t wait to see the wonderful memories Albany Lodge captures next! 🌟

(Other photos show Oluchi, Activities Lead, already putting the new camera to good use!)

Belmont House

Following a multi-million pound development, Belmont House has been meticulously built by Caring Homes to provide a home that is entirely centred on providing a safe environment with specialist care for residents. We have created a modern care home with exceptional facilities and the highest quality finish. Practical bedrooms with en-suite facilities and carefully considered furniture arrangements suit the specific care needs of our residents. The comfortable environment with impressive decoration, belies the careful, thoughtful design. We have taken into account ease of movement and navigation, good visibility and accessibility, and introduced memory aids to promote maximum independence and confidence. Our dementia-friendly design features include strong lighting coupled with the use of colour and contrast for safety and perception, plus clear signage with icons to help wayfinding. In addition, low windowsills enable residents to admire wildlife including squirrels and birds in the gardens.

At Belmont house we have high standards and this backed up by our CQC rating which you can view here - https://www.caringhomes.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Belmont-House-Nursing-Home_2018.01.30.pdf?ppc=yes
