Introducing the Butternut Squash Pakora with Chilli 🌶️ Pickled Plums & Labneh

Shaved squash and red onion mixed with team flour & sambar spices, tossed in thosai batter and fried. Labneh made with Greek yoghurt and lemon zest underneath, plums pickled with chilli on top!

Oru El Saltador Barre Retreat 💫

Join Gee and the Oru team for our first-ever barre retreat from the 19th–24th April 2026. Over the course of six days, you’ll enjoy daily barre sessions alongside gentle mobility and relaxation classes, all designed to leave you feeling energised and restored. There will also be plenty of time to rest, read in a hammock, relax on the beach and simply enjoy space for yourself.

We are so excited to be bringing Rhythms of the Diaspora to Dulwich! After a magical and successful day full of events to celebrate South Asian Heritage, a few weeks ago in Sutton, we are going to be holding another event filled with music, movement and finishing with a shared meal at Trinco!

Join us in Dulwich on Friday, 13th September, from 16:15. We’ll begin with a yoga class accompanied by live instrumentals, led by our CEO, Vibushan Thirukumar. After a 30-minute break, with access to our shower facilities, you’ll enjoy a live Carnatic performance by Drumshed, before rounding off the evening with a Sri Lankan Supper Club at Trinco 🌿

It’s been a lively couple of weeks at Oru, filled with connection, culture, and conversation! From Cosmic Speed-Dating to Coffee Tasting, our spaces have been buzzing with energy and community ✨💫

We began the month with Cosmic Connections, hosted by relationship therapist Sabah Khan. This intentional speed-dating evening gave people the chance to meet others seeking meaningful connections. Whether guests walked away with a spark of romance or simply skills for cultivating more intentional dating experiences, the night was a wonderful success, and there’s more to come soon 👀

Next, we marked South Asian Heritage Month at Oru Sutton with a day of celebration. The morning opened with a yoga class accompanied by live Tamil instrumentals, creating a beautiful bridge between practice and lineage. Later, LOOSU WORLD led a panel discussion on this year’s theme, From Roots to Routes, which flowed into an inspiring live musical performance by Drumshed Collective and an incredible closing DJ set from Gowshi.

And just this week, one of our members, Dr Hannah Brownlee, hosted an Inspired Conversation on Quantum Physics, Spirituality, and Healing. Thought-provoking and deeply engaging, the talk explored how science and spirituality, often seen as opposing worlds, might actually complement one another on the path to deeper understanding. Hannah will be returning on 20th September for the next chapter: Quantum Physics, Trauma & Healing. Don’t miss it.
