At Oru, we want to be absolutely clear.
We are, and always will be, an inclusive, anti-racist, no-bullsh*t space.
We have worked hard to make sure that Oru is a place where everyone feels welcome, safe, and valued. Our community is proudly diverse, and we stand firmly against any attempt to divide people along lines of race, faith, culture, or identity. We have always flown the LGBTQ+ flag proudly, and we always will. Marginalised people of every identity are welcome here.
Being a safe space means more than words. It means acting with care and responsibility for one another. It means standing up against hate in all its forms, and continuing to create spaces that celebrate difference, encourage dialogue, and nurture belonging.
In recent days, there have been provocations in our community, particularly at our site in Sutton, with attempts to divide and incite fear. We know that moments like this can feel heavy and isolating, and we want to remind our community that you are not alone. Our commitment is unwavering: to hold space, to offer sanctuary, and to lead with compassion and unity.
This is who we are. This is who we will always be.
