😂 “Elysium… not just a wellness centre, a way of life.”

This clip made us laugh… but there’s actually a bit of truth hiding in the joke.

The name Elysian is inspired by Elysium, from Greek mythology — a place known as the Elysian Fields. It was described as a peaceful, harmonious paradise where people lived free from struggle and worry.

That idea is what inspired the name Elysian.

A place where people can pause, breathe, reset, and learn tools that help them feel calmer, clearer, and more balanced in everyday life.

And here’s the interesting part…

Many of our members who miss just one week of sessions often tell us the same thing:

"I didn’t realise how much I needed it until I missed it."

They notice the difference.
The calm.
The clarity.
The reset.

Which tells us something important…

Maybe it really is more than just a wellness centre.

✨ Big Congratulations to Kiran! ✨

We’re incredibly proud to share that Kiran, instructor at Elysian Yoga, has successfully completed her 50-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training. This is a fantastic achievement and a beautiful addition to the styles of yoga we can offer our community.

🧘🏼‍♂️ What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga perfectly complements more dynamic “yang” styles of movement such as Vinyasa yoga, running, strength training, and even kickboxing. While those activities build heat in the body and strengthen muscular tissues, Yin invites you to slow down.

Instead of flowing between poses, Yin focuses on stillness and longer, passive holds. These poses gently target the deep connective tissues of the body – fascia, ligaments and joints – helping to release tension and improve mobility.

Most Yin poses are practised seated or lying down, commonly working into the hips, pelvis and lower spine, though our sessions will also include elements that support the upper body.

🌿 Some of the benefits of Yin Yoga include...

• Improved flexibility and range of motion
• Supporting joint health and connective tissue
• Activating the parasympathetic nervous system (your body’s “rest and digest” mode)
• Creating space for mental stillness and introspection

Our Yin sessions will gently guide you into the practice. We’ll begin with breath awareness and gentle movement, transition into the Yin practice, then finish with a soft Yang-style flow before relaxing into Savasana.

It’s the perfect way to slow down, reset, and reconnect with your body.

At Elysian, we’re incredibly lucky to have instructors who bring not only knowledge and passion to their work but also the wisdom and compassion that comes from being mothers themselves.

Being a mum means giving endlessly, supporting quietly, and showing strength in ways the world doesn’t always see.

Our instructors who are also mums embody the true meaning of balance — caring for others while still showing up to uplift, teach, and empower the community around them.

Their energy, patience, and nurturing spirit are felt in every class.
