Our inspirational woman of the week is: Dilorom Yuldosheva

Two years ago, Dilorom Yuldosheva lost both legs in a harvesting accident.

Instead of letting it defeat her, Dilorom decided to set up her own sewing business in the hope to help young Uzbek women make a living by not having to work in the fields.

She learnt the basics of entrepreneurship and resource management and went on to train more than 40 apprentices. Within months, her company grew significantly, running free workshops and securing contracts to produce uniforms for workers and school children.

Her business has since become a source of income for her and dozens of other women. What an inspiration 👏💜

Our inspirational woman of the week is: Betty White

Betty White was an icon of American television who made history countless times. She was the first woman to:
📽️ Appear on television in 1939 on an experimental broadcast
🎬 Produce a national TV show
⭐ Star in a sitcom
🏆 Receive an Emmy nomination

Over her career, which spanned more than eight decades, she received eight Emmys, one Grammy, and three Screen Actors Guild awards.

And just to top it off, the U.S. Postal Service has released that they will be honouring Betty with her own postage stamp in March 2025 💌

Betty’s work inspired many women who dreamed of making a name for themselves in the entertainment industry and became a role model by breaking down barriers for other female performers 👏

Our inspirational woman of the week is: Gisèle Pelicot

Gisèle has become a symbol of female courage and resilience during the three-month trial at the hands of the abuse her husband and more than 50 other men subjected her to for almost a decade.

71-year-old Gisèle Pelicot refused her right to anonymity and asked that her trial be made public, prompting an outpouring of support in France and around the world.

For too long, shame has clung to the survivors of r**e and sexual violence, yet it belongs to those who commit these crimes. Giséle’s face has come to represent this, and her courage is recognised by survivors everywhere 💜

From all forms of sexual and gender-based violence, shame must change sides 👊

Childbirth can sometimes lead to unexpected challenges, and it’s important to know you’re not alone.

If you have suffered a trauma, the brain processes it in a different way than other memories, and it can seem like an uphill battle trying to carry on with normal life.

Our article sheds some light on the signs of post-natal PTSD, support options, and real ways to find hope for recovery.

If you or someone you know might be struggling, take a moment to read it, as nobody should go through post-natal PTSD alone.

❔ Did you know ❔

Active-duty females encounter conditions which make managing their period difficult, including field conditions that can make carrying and managing menstrual products challenging and unsanitary.

In fact, a lot of female soldiers have said to use period underwear, as it holds the same as 2-3 tampons and they can wear them for up to 8 hours 🩸.

On the battlefield or at the office, period underwear is proving reliable in joining the ranks! 💪 Visit https://shop.karihealth.co.uk/collections/period-support-1 to get yours today.

Our inspirational woman of the week is: Simone Biles.

Simone is best known for winning 25 World Championships and 7 medals; however, she is also a huge role model for female gymnasts and an inspiration for those struggling with mental health.

Following the 2021 Olympics, Simone decided to take a break from her career due to mental health struggles. She became one of the first world-renowned athletes to publicly prioritise mental health over competition.

Simone also became the youngest person to ever receive the highest civilian honorary award due to her support and activism on matters related to athletes’ mental health, children in foster care and sexual assault victims 🙌💚. She had the courage to use her social media platform to share her own personal story and raise awareness on sexual harassment and abuse following the movement.

After her break, she came back stronger than ever and reclaimed her spot at the top of Gymnastics sports 🏅💪

Although her medal count is inspiring, everything she did off the mat is what truly inspires us. Understanding that it’s okay not to be okay, speak up, share our stories, and empower others to do the same 👏
