April also saw a new group of Riders and Controllers begin their DBB experience with their induction day, with many already having completed some of their mentored days. Already some of our March intake have completed all their training stages and are now fully fledged as an authorised DBB operative.

We also continued with our support for the The Hearts Milk Bank, getting donated milk to babies in need in the North East.

The data for April has been checked and verified and we have pleasure in publishing our April Impact Report.

The total jobs count was the highest since March 2022, after which the impacts of covid work began to diminish.

That’s a fabulous result for the team with many ‘going the extra mile’ many times over, in the face of pressures from health and vacation absences over recent weeks. Well done to our April teams!

This time it’s the turn of the ladies to drive-in at Broughton Heath Golf Club.

The Captains have chosen Derbyshire Blood Bikes as their charity this year with the target to raise enough to put a new Derbyshire Blood Bike on the road in 2027.

We know they’re off to a great start and we wish them well for the season!

We went along to Broughton Heath Golf Club today for the men’s drive-in celebrations.

Why? Well the Club Captains, Lee and Brenda have chosen Derbyshire Blood Bikes as their charity of the year for 2026. And today was the first day of their Captains season.

So we’d like to say a huge thank you to Lee and Brenda for their support and we look forward to being with them at some of the seasons highlights, including next Wednesday, when the ladies get their own Drive-in celebrations.

Another successful relay today with Tim the filling in a three group sandwich.

Today’s task was to transfer 12litres of processed donor breast milk from The Hearts Milk Bank to hospitals in the northeast.

Serv Herts & Beds collected the precious product from the Milk Bank and delivered safely to Northampton Services, meeting Tim at the first handover point. Tim then travelled to Wetherby Services to meet Northumbria Blood Bikes at the second handover point.

A significant journey of around 290miles for Tim, but that’s nothing when you know this will provide vital neonatal feeding for poorly or premature babies.

Back at Denby Pottery Village today for the final day of the Easter Extravaganza.

Come along and have a go on the fabulous tombola with some great Easter prizes. For the little ones, there’s a prize every time on the hook-a-duck.

North and South today!

In the north, Peter and Darren are nicely in the Buxton Spring Shopping centre, handy for either a light snack from Waitrose & Partners or a quick eye test at Specsavers.

While in the south, the team are back for day two at Denby Pottery Village Easter Extravaganza, hoping that the forecast high winds stay away until after closing time! We don’t need a !

The Denby store we’re doing a roaring trade yesterday, with hundreds of people topping up their Denby collection and helping to !

All set up at Denby Pottery Village for the Easter Extravaganza!

Thank you to Deb and Leigh for the early start getting all the kit out of store and to the event.

Special thanks to Debbie for her fabulous hard work organising the fantastic tombola and hook a duck, and of course all our brilliant volunteers for donating hundreds of pounds worth of prizes. Come and say hello, donate or have a go and try your luck!

Just a quick update if you’re planning to visit us over the long Easter weekend...

We’ll be open as usual, except for Easter Sunday (5th April 2026), when all shops, eateries, and Denby Experiences will be closed.

Here’s when you can visit us:
Good Friday: 9am–5pm
Saturday 4th April: 9am–5pm
Easter Sunday: Closed
Easter Monday: 9am–5pm
