Micro Meditation for the Overthinker at Night

If your brain won’t switch off at night… this is for you.

When the lights go out, the thoughts get louder.

Replaying conversations.

Planning tomorrow.

Remembering things from ten years ago.

This isn’t a mindset problem.

It’s a nervous system that hasn’t fully settled yet.

Try this:
• Drop your tongue from the roof of your mouth
• Unclench your jaw
• Let your exhale last longer than your inhale

These tiny signals tell your body it’s safe to rest.

No forcing sleep.
No fighting your mind.

Just giving your nervous system permission to settle.
Save this for tonight 🤍

This message arrived after a session recently…

Messages like this are why I started Calm Within Meditation 🤍

"Absolutely amazing, one of the best meditation classes I've attended. Thank you for such a calming experience."

Moments like this mean so much to me.

When I started Calm Within Meditation, my hope was simply to create a space where people could pause, breathe, and feel a little more steady in themselves.

Knowing someone leaves feeling calmer or lighter makes it all worthwhile.

If you've been curious about meditation but weren't sure where to start, my sessions are always gentle, guided and beginner friendly.

We often try to force calm.

Breathe deeper.

Think positive.

Push through.

But calm doesn’t grow through pressure.
It grows when the body stops feeling threatened.
Safety comes first.

Peace follows.

If today feels overwhelming, start small:
slow your exhale… soften your shoulders… let your body know it’s safe.

💾 Save this for the moments you need it most.

Fibromyalgia is often misunderstood.

Many people living with it are not just experiencing pain — they are living with a nervous system that has become highly sensitive to stress signals.

This is why practices like meditation, breath awareness and nervous-system regulation can sometimes help alongside medical care.

Not as a cure.

But as a way to create small moments where the body can soften.

If you live with fibromyalgia, you are not weak and you are not imagining it.

Your nervous system has simply been carrying a heavy load.

We’re a week into March already.
Before the month rushes past, I’m curious…
What have you done this week to support yourself?

It doesn’t have to be big.

Maybe you:
• took a few slow breaths
• went for a walk
• stepped away from something draining
• went to bed earlier
• or simply gave yourself permission to rest.

Small nervous-system resets matter more than we realise.

If meditation is part of that for you, my online classes run each week, and each one supports your nervous system in a slightly different way.

🌅 Wednesday Morning (30 mins)
A calm but energising start to the day.
Gentle breathwork, awareness and affirmations to help you feel clear, grounded and ready for the day ahead.

🌅 Thursday Morning (30 mins)
Another chance to reset mid-week.
A supportive pause to settle your nervous system and bring steadiness before the day gets busy.

🌙 Tuesday Evening (30 mins)
A gentle unwind after the day.
Perfect if your mind is busy and your body needs help switching off.

🌙✨ Thursday Evening (45 mins)
A deeper relaxation session.

Longer guided meditation designed to help the body drop fully out of stress mode and prepare for restful sleep.

You’re always welcome whenever you need it 🤍 Link in bio to book.

Mornings don’t always begin with clarity.

Sometimes the body wakes up braced…foggy… already overwhelmed.

This isn’t a motivation problem.

It’s a nervous system waking in protection mode.

Try this before reaching for your phone and notice what shifts.

Save to try tomorrow 🤍

These photos were originally taken for my eBooks…
but if I’m honest, they reflect exactly where I am right now.

Some days lately have felt like this:
overwhelmed
exhausted
trying to hold it together

And other days look like this:
resting
regulating
allowing my body to slow down

I started my learning — and Calm Within Meditation — because of illness.

And right now, I’m moving through another phase of symptoms that I’m learning to listen to, rather than push through.

So I cancelled Sunday’s class.
And I’m limiting the breathwork I personally practise.
Not because I’m giving up.
But because I’m honouring my nervous system.
No one is perfect.

Social media often shows peaceful poses, glowing faces, and calm bodies…
but there is often hard, unseen work behind that calm.
This page isn’t about perfection.
It’s about real emotion, real pain, and the hard-earned practice of regulation.

This work was never about getting it “right.”
It was about learning how to meet ourselves where we are.

If your body has been asking you to slow down lately…
you’re not failing.
you’re listening.

And if this season of slowing, healing, or rebuilding resonates with you —follow along.

I share this work for the days when calm feels far away, and for the reminder that healing isn’t linear.
🤍
