Those costs can be life long trauma and in some cases even worse case scenario.

Using a child to feed the stats, tick the boxes is a form of abuse and is not inclusive or kind.

Absolutely Michaela!! ♥️
And what a travesty that they are wasting valuable time and money focusing on this, driven by a political agenda not by a genuine desire to do the right thing, rather than focusing on the broken education system that is a huge factor in the mental health crisis in schools.

Oh get in the bin Wes 🚮🗑️

It’s wild, isn’t it, how the people shouting loudest about “everyone having ADHD these days” or “labels being handed out like sweets” are always the same ones who’ve never once sat in a diagnostic appointment, never filled out endless forms, never fought for their child to be seen, heard, or supported.

Funny how it’s never the clinicians saying this.
Never the psychologists, paediatricians, psychiatrists, or specialists who actually understand neurodevelopmental conditions. It’s always the armchair experts with zero lived experience and even less empathy.

The reality is this: families aren’t begging for labels, they’re begging for help.
Kids aren’t struggling because of diagnoses; they’re struggling because they don’t get one.
Because the system is underfunded, overwhelmed, and so dismissive that parents have to become warriors just to get their children a fraction of what they need.

And instead of tackling the lack of support, the chaos, and the unmet needs, we’re now having reviews led by people who don’t even work in the diagnostic field. It’s not about accuracy. It’s not about “over-diagnosis.” It’s about cutting costs and controlling narratives.

So no the issue isn’t “everyone has ADHD these days.”

The issue is everyone suddenly thinks they’re an expert, while the actual experts, research, and lived experiences are being ignored.

Listen to the people living it.
Listen to the clinicians doing the work.
Listen to the data.
Not the loudest person with the smallest amount of knowledge.

These lot and there money saving schemes- They can F**k off.
How about the lot of them stop relying on tax payers money, pay their own taxes and fund our systems properly and give kids the future they deserve.
Honestly …

Sorry rant over.
Michaela 🫂❤️

A meltdown isn’t a child 'losing control' on purpose.
It’s the nervous system moving into overwhelm — often because things have felt too loud, too fast, too uncertain, or too much for too long.

When we understand the phases of a meltdown, we can respond with care rather than correction.
We can spot the early signs.
We can keep connection safe.
We can help a child return to calm without shame.

Today we’re exploring the Timeline of a Meltdown— what’s happening in the brain and body, what it looks like, and how we can support at each stage. Visuals for parents/educators and child voice style for young people. For more support, see our Timeline of a Meltdown Resource Pack – link in comments below ⬇️ or Linktree Shop in Bio.
