Reminder: Efficient care for minor ailments & BP monitoring services

We want to remind all patients that visiting your pharmacist first for minor, self limiting illnesses can be a fast & efficient way to get help & save you time. Pharmacists are trained to assess common, short-lived conditions & can provide immediate advice, over the counter medications, in some cases antibiotics, and triage if further care is needed. Some pharmacies are also providing routine BP monitoring and ambulatory BP monitoring that tracks your BP over a full day and they email us the results.

In a nutshell, before visiting us, consider visiting your pharmacy first for a quick assessment and advice.

About Kooth

Kooth is a transformational digital mental health platform that launched in 2004. It gives children and young people (CYPs) immediate access to an online community of peers and a team of experienced, accredited counsellors.

Access is free of the typical barriers to support - no waiting times, no referrals, no thresholds to meet and complete anonymity.

The service is open for support 365 days per year, between 12pm-10pm on weekdays, and 6pm-10pm on weekends and holidays.

What is Stress Awareness Month?

Stress Awareness Month is an annual event observed every April since 1992, dedicated to increasing public awareness about the causes, effects, and management of stress. The Stress Management Society, a nonprofit organisation established in 2003, has been championing this initiative for over two decades. Their mission is to help individuals and organisations recognise and reduce stress, fostering happier, healthier, and more resilient communities.

Each year, they introduce a unique theme to guide their activities and resources. In 2024, the theme was , highlighting how small, consistent positive actions can make a meaningful difference to overall wellbeing. In 2025, the focus shifted to , encouraging compassion, kindness, and unconditional positive regard as tools for stress management.

Follow the link below to discover the theme for 2026, useful free resources and monthly webinars.

Please Be Kind to Our Reception Team

We know that needing medical help can sometimes be stressful or worrying, and we always do our best to support you. However, we’ve recently seen an increase in rude and abusive behaviour towards our reception team. This is not acceptable.

Our receptionists are here to help you get the right care as quickly and safely as possible. They work under the guidance of our doctors to direct you to the most appropriate service for your need, whether that’s an appointment, advice, or another form of support.

Please remember that they are real people doing their best for you and our community. We ask everyone to treat them with the same respect and kindness you’d expect in return.

Thank you for helping us make the surgery a safe, friendly place for staff and patients alike.
