Our Story

Situated in the heart of beautiful Purbeck, our Swanage care home provides dementia care, respite care and palliative care, primarily to older people over the age of 65.

It has been completely refurbished to a very high standard and forms part of the thriving James Day Care Centre. There are several assisted bathrooms and wet-rooms on each floor, along with modern facilities and amenities. The residential home is arranged over two floors, with the first floor accessible via stairs or a lift.

There are two communal lounges and a dining room on the ground floor, with a lounge/diner upstairs. Most areas of the care home overlook mature, well maintained gardens and nice views of Swanage. The gardens offer seating, ramped access to pathways with support railings and sheltered space. There is also a pond and feature fountain.

A recent addition to our Purbeck care home is the development of a specialist dementia care suite accommodating six residents with advanced dementia needs. The suite has its own dining and lounge areas and is supported by a team of specially trained ‘Person First’ care workers.
