💛A little favour from our community

Cariad Communities CIC is growing, and we’d love your help to reach more people across the Afan Valley.
We know there are still families, young people, parents, carers and residents who could benefit from our sessions, support and community activities, but Facebook only shows our posts to a small percentage of people unless they’re shared.
If you enjoy what we do, have attended a session, or simply believe in supporting local community projects, please could you:
⭐ Invite friends to follow our page
⭐ Share our posts
⭐ Tell people about us
Every share helps us reach someone who might need support, friendship, activities or simply somewhere to belong.
From kids clubs and teen sessions to Crafty Cuppa, digital support and community projects — we want Cariad to reach as many people in the Afan Valley as possible 💛
Thank you for supporting local community work.
Cariad exists because of people like you.

🌊Mental Health Awareness Week Walk and Talk 🌊

Next Thursday, we will be meeting for a walk and talk around Swansea Marina and Swansea beach, followed by a trip to the Waterfront Museum cafe for a drink.

We will be meeting at 1.30pm by the Waterfront Museum (on the side with the museum green). If it is raining we will still meet up, but instead of the walk we will head straight to the waterfront museum to have a coffee and a chat there ☕

🗓️Thursday 14th May
🕚 Meet at 1:30pm

I am noticing a lot of children and young people struggling with overthinking lately in sessions and so thought this might be helpful for parents 😊

Love this 🥰Thanks Samantha Lee Counselling for sharing 🤗

I often get people say to me “I couldn’t do your job, it’s too depressing.”

It’s weird, ‘cos I look at a lot of other jobs and think the same thing!

But whilst I can acknowledge that this profession does have an affect on you sometimes, overall this meme sums up why I keep doing it.

Knowing that the work you do with a client has the potential to change their lives in some way is something I’m so grateful to play a small part in.

That’s what I call job satisfaction right there 🥰

Walking Your Way to Better Mental Health https://buff.ly/xpwdIQk

April 1 is National Walking Day. 🚶

Walking is one of the most effective and accessible ways to improve your mental well-being. 😊

Did you know you can make your brain stronger and lower the risk of memory loss simply by walking more? 🧠

When you walk, your brain releases Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF). Scientists often describe BDNF as fertilizer for your brain because it helps grow and strengthen brain cells. 🌿

Walking also helps:
✔ Reduce stress
✔ Improve mood
✔ Support memory and learning

You can boost the benefits more by walking outside in nature and sunshine. ☀️

Lace up your shoes and take a walk today. 👟

I wrote this because many people discover that grief is very different from what they expected.

And if it helps someone you care about understand grief a little better, feel free to share it.
