Great performance by the team today, only played 2 games and one of our games was called off. We faced 2 very good teams in Johnstown & llangenech, great battling from all 6 players today, they worked their socks off and done the club and themselves super proud!

Competitive Football Round-Up from the Elba! ⚽️

Two entertaining games kicked off the morning, with our U12s putting in a brave performance but just missing out 3–1 against a strong Bryn Rovers AFC side.

Our U13s kept their fantastic form rolling with a dominant 4–0 win over Cwm Wanderers Juniors AFC — a result that seals their place in the Plate Semi-Final! 🏆🔥

Sadly, the U15s were postponed due to an unplayable pitch after this week’s rain, while our Rockets battled through a tough away fixture at Town Football Club.

A massive well done to all the girls who represented the club this morning — great effort, great attitude, and plenty to build on! 💜⚽️

The U7s travelled to Cefn Hengoed this morning and put on a fantastic display of football! They showed brilliant teamwork, great determination, and scored some cracking goals along the way.

They secured a superb 1–0 win against a very strong Albies side, which was fully deserved. They then battled hard in a narrow 3–1 loss to Bont, followed by a 5–2 defeat to Mumbles. The score lines in the last two games didn’t truly reflect how well the girls played—they were exceptional throughout and gave 100%. They held their structure, stayed organised, worked together brilliantly!

Our under 12s were in action this morning at our home pitch the Elba against Bryn Rovers.

The girls started well with good passing and runs into the box, we took the lead at the half way point with a fantastic strike from the right wing, we pushed on and had a couple more opportunities but unfortunately were off target we sat back a little and held off some good play by the opposition with great defensive awareness and goal keeping by Galaxy however Bryn Rovers were back in the game to make it 1-1 at half time.

We started the 2nd half as we started the first with to some great movement and play through the centre and down the wing, we just couldn't quite find the ball in the final third to finish the game off, Bryn had a few oppertunities on goal some good saves and clearances by the Galaxy keeper but they found the breakthrough and finished the game 1-3 to Bryn Rovers.

Very proud of the girls efforts today they didn't stop even when going behind and were always looking to push forward it just wasn't our day, we go again for the next fixure 💜

This week our U11s played at Morriston Leisure Centre, with only six of our own players available today, the U11s faced three strong opponents in Ystradgynlais AFC, Pontarddulais Town Football Club & Calsonic Kansei Swiss Valley AFC but showed incredible character, teamwork, and composure throughout. A big thank you to the opposition clubs for kindly lending us a player each game so the girls could enjoy their football. 🤝💜

Galaxy 1 – 2 Ystradgynlais

The girls started the day brilliantly, completely on top for almost the entire game. We passed the ball confidently, created chance after chance, and showed real composure in possession. Ystradgynlais were sharp on the counter and took their chances well, but on another day we easily could have scored four or five with the opportunities we created. A really encouraging performance and a sign of how far the girls have come.

Galaxy 0 – 0 Pontardawe

Another game where Galaxy dominated from start to finish. The passing was crisp, the movement excellent, and the girls worked so hard both on and off the ball. We created plenty of chances again and stayed disciplined defensively. A clean sheet fully deserved — a performance full of teamwork, energy, and control.

Galaxy 1 – 4 CSKV

Both teams attacked with intent, and after going 1–0 down, the girls showed brilliant spirit to hit back quickly with a well-worked equaliser. They battled for every ball, passed with confidence, and showed real bravery going forward. Mya made some superb saves once again to keep us in the game, and even as tired legs set in, the effort, attitude, and determination never dropped. Proud of every single one of them.

Despite having a small squad today, the girls produced three performances full of quality, effort, and real progress. They passed the ball brilliantly, stayed composed under pressure, created loads of chances, and worked their socks off in every game.

This morning our u10s were at Penrhos for 3 games.

We played Evans and Williams, Talycopa and CKSV.

We lost all three however the girls were excellent especially in the final 2 games where we were unlucky not to score.

Our POTW was Nala who was outstanding in goals!!

PLAYER(S) OF THE WEEK! 🏆💜⚽

Our U11s Players of the Week are Emily and Abi and both were absolutely outstanding from the first whistle to the last! 👏👏

Playing out on the wings, Emily and Abi gave everything for the team. Their work rate was incredible, constantly attacking with pace, defending with determination, and tracking back whenever needed. 💪⚽

Both players showed fantastic bravery and confidence, taking on their opponents, dribbling with skill, and driving the team forward at every opportunity. Their strength on the ball, combined with their willingness to work hard, made a huge difference throughout the game. 🌟

What really impressed the coaches was their attitude: relentless effort and positive body language. They pushed themselves, supported their teammates, and represented the Gower Galaxy spirit superbly. 💜

Well done, Emily and Abi! Keep working hard, keep believing in yourselves, and keep enjoying your football! 💜⚽

Our U9s had a 10am start in a dry but chilly Pontardawe.

What a great game of football to start the day, solid defence by Izzy and Hattie with Lacey stopping all the shots in goals. Beca opened the scoring with a strong shot at close range and Summer adding another with a skilful strike.

With a much changed side the standard proved just as exciting in another goal fest. Amira held the midfield, and after going behind Beca equalised with another well placed shot. Daisy was back in action after a few weeks off and had plenty of shots saved. Hattie and Lacey swapping goalie duties, with Lacey going close with a great shot. Rhos took the lead and Summer equalised this time. Izzy again had a strong game in defence. With the final whistle approaching, Rhos had one more chance and took it to claim a win.

What a great game that shows how far these girls have come. Summer, Beca, Daisy and Izzy worked incredibly hard against a very strong side. Penlan took the lead after a defensive mishap but Galaxy fought back. Lots of chances to our girls but it just wasn’t to be. Summer as brilliant as ever, stepped up with a deserved equaliser. Lacey made some excellent saves to keep the scores level. Beca had a shot saved, Daisy hit the post, but we were caught on the counter by Penlan for a well placed shot. It finished 2-1 Penlan, but what an exciting game of football the girls from both sides displayed.
