Hello all hope you have had a lovely sunny weekend. Apologies for the quietness here its been a very busy few weeks. 🥰
Both Elaine and myself completed the Gower Trek for Macmillan- it was perilous in some parts but such an achievement and with your support we have raised vital funds- thankyou so much 🥰
Staff practical training underway - Manual Handling and also Well Being In the workplace training by Ingrid Nicholls counselling and psychotherapy which staff really enjoyed and gave great feedback 💜
We have also had professional visits from the chiropodist and dentist too for our wonderful residents 😀
Specsavers opticians will be visiting over the next few months also.
We have had our deputy Nicola Scott 50th birthday too 🎂 and I'm sure she is looking forward to being back in work tomorrow after her holidays 😀

Hi all just to let you know Hairdresser Joanne booked for 24th and chiropody 27th June.
We also have 2 big birthdays to celebrate this week so Debbie Morgan will be with us Friday 2pm ###

GREAT NEWS!!!
PHW has given us the go ahead this afternoon to re-open. Tentatively, we request you ring the home prior to visiting. Visits will take place in residents bedrooms over the next week. Please and I cannot stress this enough if you are feeling unwell please do not visit.

Sadly after discussion with Public Health Wales today- and the increasing rise of Norovirus cases within Swansea and the local area, I have made the decision to close the home for visitors from today until at least Saturday 17th May as we deal with an outbreak also.
All relatives/NOK have been contacted today. Please if your thinking about visiting the weekend, phone the home on Saturday to find out if it has re opened. Fingers crossed it passes as quickly as it came. Staff have ramped up infection
Control measures within the home to minimise the spread. Obviously if a resident is very poorly this will be risk assessed on each individual basis.
Finally a gentle reminder that if any one is feeling unwell please do not visit the home our residents are vulnerable and many have compromised immune systems that cannot cope as well as you or I if they become unwell.

Yesterday one of our gentleman Mike went down to the liberty stadium to watch the Swans play Oxford.
A lot of preparation went into making this possible behind the scenes. Contacting the stadium to make sure access was possible with care staff- thanks Becky 😊 Getting in touch with the Red cross to hire suitable wheelchair - thanks Cynthia.🥰
Organising staff to accompany on their day off - Peter and Ryan (dad and son) you guys are truly awesome 🥰🥰🥰. Finally, Wayne at the farmers for providing free transport to and from the game.
So thankful to all involved who made this possible 🙏
