We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time Funeral Operative. This is a vital role within our funeral home, responsible for assisting with various aspects of funeral provision, ensuring the smooth operation of our services. The successful candidate will support families and our funeral director team with empathy and professionalism.
Job Title: Part-Time Funeral Operative
Hours: Part-time, variable hours including evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
Salary: Casual Role with competitive rates

Key Responsibilities:
* Driving Duties: Driving funeral vehicles with utmost care and respect.
* Bearer Duties: Acting as a pallbearer, carrying coffins with dignity and precision during services.
* Care of the Deceased: Assisting with the respectful care of the deceased, under the guidance of senior staff.
* Out-of-Hours Support: Participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours collections, responding promptly and professionally.
* Liaison: Liaising respectfully with families, clergy, crematorium/cemetery staff, and other professionals.
About You:
* Compassionate & Empathetic: A genuinely caring and understanding individual with the ability to offer support to bereaved families.
* Respectful & Discreet: Able to maintain confidentiality and act with the utmost respect and discretion at all times.
* Professional Demeanour: Presentable and professional in appearance and conduct.
* Physically Capable: Able to undertake the physical demands of the role, including lifting and carrying.
* Full UK Driving License: A clean and valid UK driving license is essential. Experience driving larger vehicles is advantageous but not strictly necessary as training will be provided.
* Flexible & Reliable: Willing to work variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and participate in an on-call rota. Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
* Team Player: Able to work effectively as part of a small, dedicated team.
* Good Communication Skills: Clear and sensitive communication skills are important.
Experience in the funeral industry is beneficial but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
