We were given a brief by Child Services, Neath, which included a list of marine species that are local to the Port Talbot area. We then ran a design and graffiti workshop to get input from the public after which, artist Gemma then took the suggestions and painted boards to be displayed 😍 Funded by Neath Port Talbot Local Partnership through the Welsh Government Local Places for Nature Fund Neath Port Talbot Local Nature Partnership

The animals included in the mural are Grey seal, Small-spotted catshark, Plaice, Tope shark, Edible crab, Common starfish, Beadlet anemone, Snakelocks anemone, Serrated wrack, Sea lettuce, Northern gannet, Oystercatcher, Cockle shell, Limpet, Moon jellyfish, Barrel jellyfish, Sand eel 🦈🦭🦀

A nature inspired mural incorporating local flora/fauna for YMCA Neath, designed with community input. Hedgehog, swifts, heron, water lily, Purple-loosestrife, yellow iris and beautiful demoiselle 🦔🌿

Artist Ffion said about the project "It was an absolute pleasure working for the staff at YMCA Neath. Such a lovely asset to Neath area."

Throwback to this community team effort mural in Townhill at 🤩

Workshops took place over 2 days for members of the community to
contribute to the painting and designing process.

Artist Alex was impressed by everyone who took part, 'Great to see people from across the whole community getting involved, over 70 local people were involved in the design and painting - a great collaborative effort!!'

Fresh Creative CIC delivered a structured programme of creative workshops designed to engage participants in artistic expression, skill development, and collaborative working.

Artist Sandy educated participants about graffiti letter and spray can art techniques, with a focus on promoting creativity as a universal human experience and a tool for personal and social development and graffiti’s cultural significance and its role in contemporary artistic expression 🙌
