As we return to school and the anxiety this can bring, we wanted to remind people that as well as our work with adults we also offer 1-1 support to young people. Below is just some of what we cover in these sessions. If your young person is struggling please reach out 🩵

Can you see it? The determination in her stride ā¤ļø. She wanted to 'climb a mountain' and climb it she did. Our ultimate inspiration, our girl, showing us daily that you can overcome adversity and be a stronger, braver version of yourself.

We are back from an amazing holiday where we took our favourite little person to one of our favourite places, Glastonbury. We are back recharged and excited for the projects we have coming up.

If you are someone who has reached the realisation that life should feel lighter than it does, keep an eye on this page for the dates of the next Holistic Steps to Wellbeing course that we will be announcing shortly 🩵 This is life changing stuff, we are very excited.

Getting support takes strength and bravery. It takes such strength to put your hand up and say aloud that you would benefit from talking to someone. But when you do, it opens up a life where you can be on your own side. Where you can cheerlead yourself through the good times and be tender to yourself through the difficult ones. True healing means learning to love all parts of you, to live a life where you feel like the main character rather than an extra. Self compassion IS the key and the route to reach this, we believe, there is through understanding yourself.

Clips taken from the podcast, which is definitely worth a listen 🩵

Never underestimate the power of the little steps.

Giving ourselves a quiet moment before we rush onto the next task, having an early night, relaxing in the bath, saying no to someone who is asking too much of you, telling yourself you are trying your best (even when you don't quite believe it yet). All of the little steps add up. Each time you prioritise yourself you are sending a message to your brain that you matter too 🩵. These little steps count. Before you realise it you have become someone who is on your own side. Once you are truly on your own side healing happens ✨

Never underestimate the power of the little steps, they are taking you great places šŸ‘£šŸ‘£šŸ‘£

As humans we can be very all or nothing in our thinking and this very much applies to taking care of ourselves. So often we take steps to help ourselves and then give up when we hit the first bump in the road. For example, we might make a decision to eat more healthily and then eat chocolate and think 'I'll start again next week', no doubt beating ourselves up about that decision.

This is your reminder that change does not have to be all or nothing. Infact, it rarely is. Aim for balance. Aim for patience when you don't commit to what you had planned. Aim for something and take a step.

For each time you make a decision to do something for yourself, no matter what that something is, know that it is a step to you feeling better. The steps add up. You are getting there. All is never a sustainable goal 🩵

SEND THIS TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS REMINDING THAT IT IS OK TO STOP šŸ›‘ 🩵

We are human beings not human doings. Stopping is not only desirable, it is essential for our wellbeing. Not feeling able to stop can be a direct result of stress. It often has its roots in a childhood where we were shown by our parents that stopping was not an option unless you were ill. That approval and praise comes from achieving, achieving, achieving.

You are ok to stop, you are safe to stop. Your mental, emotional and physical health will all benefit from it 🩵. Find the moments, no matter how small, to stop šŸ›‘

When we are struggling with stress or grief or generally feeling low in mood we can carry guilt or even a fear of laughing, of experiencing joy. It is almost as if we fear that if we taste that joy we are taking away from the pain that we feel. We are not. It is ok to feel both. Laughter doesn't take away from the grief we feel. Joy doesn't take away from the stress we feel. It is infact the opposite. These little pockets of joy give us the strength to continue. Take the joy when it is there, guilt free, take it 🩵
