🌿 Struggling with Heel Pain? It Could Be Plantar Fasciitis! 🌿

If you’re experiencing a sharp pain at the bottom of your heel, especially first thing in the morning or after sitting, it might be plantar fasciitis. This common foot condition is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia, the thick band of tissue that connects your heel to your toes. Long hours on your feet, improper footwear, or increased activity levels can all contribute to this painful issue.

Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis:

• Stabbing heel pain, especially in the morning
• Pain that lessens with activity but returns after rest
• Discomfort when standing for long periods

At Health First Osteopathy, we take a holistic approach to treat plantar fasciitis, addressing not only the pain but also the root causes. Alongside osteopathic treatments like manual therapy and stretching exercises, we’re proud to offer shockwave therapy—an innovative, non-invasive treatment that stimulates healing in the damaged tissue, reduces inflammation, and eases pain.

✨ Shockwave therapy has shown remarkable success in helping patients get back on their feet faster and pain-free. Combined with other tailored osteopathic treatments, you’ll be well on your way to full recovery.

🦶Achilles Tendinopathy🦶

In this picture you can see one of my patients receiving Shock Wave Therapy for Their Achilles Tendinopathy.

What is it❓❓

A painful condition due to injury of a cord that connects the calf muscles at the back of the lower leg to the heel bone, known as achilles tendon. This injury causes the tendon to become inflamed and painful.

Symptoms🤒

The symptom usually begins with mild pain at the back of the heel after running or sports activity. The common symptoms include:

🔶Heel pain and swelling at the back of the heel
🔶Thickening of the tendon
🔶Limited range of motion when flexing the foot
🔶Area around the heel may feel warm to touch
🔶Tenderness in the affected area

Treatment👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

Treatment for Achilles Tendinopathy is more affective with a combination approach:

🔶Manual Therapy - Soft Tissue, Cupping Therapy, Shock Wave Therapy and Joint Mobilisation.
🔶Mobility and Stretching Exercises
🔶Ice and Rest

📢 Struggling with Sciatica Pain? Let’s Talk Causes & Relief! 📢

Sciatica can be a real pain in the back—literally! That sharp or dull pain that radiates from your lower back through your hips and down your leg can make even simple movements feel challenging. 😣 But don’t worry; we’re here to help!

🔍 Common Causes of Sciatica:

1. Herniated Discs: When the cushioning between vertebrae slips, it can press on the sciatic nerve.
2. Spinal Stenosis: Narrowing of the spine can compress the nerve roots, causing discomfort.
3. Muscle Tension: Tight muscles around the lower back or glutes can irritate the sciatic nerve.
4. Lifestyle Factors: Sitting for long periods, poor posture, and lack of movement can all contribute.

🌿 Natural Relief Options:

• Gentle Stretching: Target your hamstrings, glutes, and lower back to release tension.
• Heat Therapy: Warm compresses can increase blood flow, while cold packs reduce inflammation.
• Osteopathic Treatments: Techniques that mobilise and support the spine can provide lasting relief.

At Health First Osteopathy, we’re here to help you manage your sciatica with tailored, non-invasive treatments to get you back to your best self! 🌱
