Ptosis is drooping of the eyelid a condition where the upper lid drops and cannot be kept open by normal action of the muscles. A ptosis prop is a device used to retain the upper eyelid in position. Drooping of the eyelid is caused by the reduced function of the levator palprebrae (extra-ocular muscle which controls eyelid elevation).

Here are some of the most common causes:
* Blephospasm
* Myasthenia gravis
* Congenital ptosis
* Aponeurotic (age related) ptosis
* Nerve damage (cranial injury)
* Horner’s syndrome

We supply a range of ptosis props to patients. If you’d like to know more please ask at your next appointment.

We provide a range of Hi Index lenses for patients with stronger prescriptions who would like to reduce the lens thickness, weight & improve the cosmetic appearance of the lenses.

We provide a range of lens options to suit your prescription requirements - please ask for more information at your next appointment.
