InnerSpace I offer Sivananda Style Yoga classes Hi,

I'm April, a Yoga teacher since 2003. Over the years, I gained experience and built a strong following.

My yoga journey began when I made the decision to leave my corporate job and embark on a world-traveling adventure at the age of 30. It was during this journey that I found myself in India, where I studied Yoga at the Sivananda ashram in Kerala. After completing my studies, I returned to my local community and started teaching Yoga. Eventually, I established Innerspace, one of the largest Yoga & Pilates studios in Oxfordshire, located on the outskirts of Faringdon. Although I no longer have the studio due to starting a family, I have continued to teach Yoga locally. I am grateful that my dedicated Yogis have stayed with me throughout the years, consistently practicing and growing in their practice. It's the sense of community and connection that Yoga has brought into my life that I truly cherish. Our classes have become a weekly tonic for all of us, offering much more than just physical exercise on the mat. It's a space where we come together, support one another, and find inner space and balance. Yoga has truly become a way of life for us, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of this journey with my Yogis. Everyone is welcome to join my classes, as they are designed to accommodate individuals of all abilities. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced, there is a place for you in my classes. I ensure that the content and pace of the lessons cater to each student's level, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for everyone. So, regardless of your skill level, feel confident in joining my classes and embarking on a journey of learning and growth. In our classes, we prioritize having a fantastic time by being lighthearted and having fun. We don't take ourselves too seriously, which creates a more enjoyable and relaxed learning environment.

It's never too early to give the gift of Yoga to your kids! Not all kids are naturally bendy and they certainly don't know how to relax and be still! Having a young boy I certainly know this to be true!! Ollie (now 13!) used to love his sessions and due to his flexibility had a horrible habit of biting his toe nails! 😝
I took pictures of him with his foot on his head to perhaps one day remind him what he could do as a kid.... as all of a sudden your all grown up and you are all stiff and you wonder when exactly did I get old and stiff?

My story

Welcome to Innerspace. Space where life takes on a slower pace. Space to learn about yourself, your body and your mind. A space to unwind and relax.

Yoga - The ancient natural method of healing is about feeling good, relaxed and energised. Each of the poses gently stretches, opens and eases away your aches and stresses and creates space in your body. By practicing Yoga you begin to turn your focus inwards, away from all the external chaos life throws at us and you begin to focus on how your body feels and slowly you begin to listen.

A little bit about me. I am an energetic individual with a passion for talking (understatment of the century!), people, life and holistic health. I took a career break from a manic corporate role and studied Sivanada Yoga in Kerala, India back in 2003 and have been teaching for the past 15 years. My style of Yoga is one which is deeply rooted to its true source and I try to bring the full spectrum of yoga to each of my classes.

I demonstrate a large amount of Vata qualities and if I didn’t practise Yoga I think I would spend most of my time on the ceiling! However Yoga is my one grounding stability that ensures I am able to take on the everyday challenges that life throws my way. To give everyone the tool of Yoga to help them to face their own life struggles or stresses is my greatest motivation for teaching.
