And it’s over… as far as comps go this was a tough one. I’m really tired, my body is sore and I’m mentally exhausted 🥱 and may possibly need a spine replacement 🩻 - damn jumping down from a rig which is too high for me to jump from!

I tried really hard, I made some poor decisions in the heat of the moment for which I’m sorry for, drank far too much caffeine ☕️ , stroked my pup 🐶 in the middle of workouts, actually gone into a toilet cubicle and slapped 👋 myself around the face 🫣 a few times, then forgot every movement and every rep amount for a whole WOD, (thanks to Liam for being kind, calm and gentle in reminding me every step of the way), but I lifted 🏋️‍♀️ what I thought I wouldn’t be able to on the day, did better than I thought I would with the gymnastics 🤸🏻 , enjoyed the atmosphere, didn’t feel so sick 🤢 and nervous 😟 as I have before and loved spending time with some great supportive people and loved having Sebastian 🐶 there, who was perfectly dog sat by lovely Lucia and I’m so chuffed that I didn’t actually p*e myself on the comp floor! Go pelvic floor - I’m immensely proud of you! 👏

I’m grateful now to have 3 days off from Personal Training (please don’t turn up at the gym until Thursday!) when I will be really pleased to see you… 😊

I’ve slept really badly so I have come back to bed with my ginger boys 🐱 🐕 and am about to reply to messages… 🙏😘

So the day has come… it’s comp day!

And CADASIL AWARENESS DAY…

*** Firstly I had a mammoth sleep, 😴 I even got an excellent (thank you drugs!)😊

***The car is packed, my comp top fits me 😮‍💨 everyone has been fed and watered and I’m having last minute coffee waiting for lovely Lucia to get here- she is our super spectator and cheerleader and official pup carer today and I adore her for being such an amazing help.

***I ran up to put the bins out earlier, having made sure I shut the gate (Sebastian hasn’t been out of the garden without me before, but I turned around when I heard little feet and he had leapt over the fence to find me. This could have ended today for me but he just came straight to me and wanted picking up - he’s the best boy! 🐶❤️

***Heres the before photo… 🤣 how can I still look tired with that much sleep? Anyway we all know the after photo will really show the result today has on me! Looking forward to taking that! 😩🤣

***One thing is left… a massive thank you to my friends, clients and gym buddies for the messages of support and encouragement. It means the world that you guys have so much belief in me when I doubt myself and say it’s the last comp I will ever do. 🤐 🙏❤️

So today was the day before comp… the 1 day left before it’s time to travel up to Coventry to compete at Battleground for Middle Ground - Winter Soldier!

There are no more days, there’s just one more sleep and an early start…

***Today I ran the Saturday morning class, I went through the movements with the group so I kept my body moving but nothing heavy, hard or fast. 🚶

*** I saw lovely ladies wearing my BBPT clothing 👚 👕 which made me very happy Clare & Lucia

***We did some PT, there’s going to be some sore muscles out there tomorrow and I’m happy that they won’t just be mine! 🤣💪

***We had a cheeky little sunbed (at half price - during the first hour of opening) at Meraki - the best sunbed place in Swindon 😎

***Sebastian and I had a lovely walk out into the countryside 🌳 🐿️ 🐐 🐎 🐦 staying calm and remembering to breathe…

***I currently have an issue with hydration in my blood so I’ve been boshing electrolytes and now I’m drinking 🥥 coconut water to make a last ditch effort to get hydrated before tomorrow.

***Ive had 🍝 pasta and other carbs for my energy stores and I’ve done some creative visualisation of the WODS in the hope that some of it will be saved in my memory for once I’m out on the comp floor. 🏋️‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️

***I have seen that tomorrow is CADASIL AWARENESS DAY - timely really as I’ve been realising recently that it might currently be causing me some health issues.

***I got sent a photo that a client took in the week of Sebastian and I and he just melts my 💓. Thank you for sending it across Bev Francis.

***I know it’s early but I am off to bed soon, another sh*te nights sleep last night 🥱 and no room for error tonight 🛌

It’s 2 days until comp

***finally picked up comp day tops

*** a visit to the pet shop 🏬 to stock up on treats for Sebastian’s 🐶 day out and a new supposed “indestructible ball”… 🥎 we will see!

*** a nana 👵 nap which we are now calling a ninja 🥷 nap in case it might help redefine the need for them! 😴

***far too much ☔️ for a 🐕 walk so less steps than I wanted

***putting my top on back to front and inside out 😵‍💫😤

*** Friday night class 🏃‍♀️ and one last comp training session 🏋️‍♀️

***comp bags 💼 completely packed, (only 3 pairs of trainers 👟 required as there’s no running WOD) camping chair 🪑 ready

*** another early night 🛌 😴 💤

There was no “3 days before comp” post yesterday….

Yesterday was a struggle.. I’ve debated only posting the positive aspects because there were some great ones… but there was also another side, a less pretty side of the day.

I try to stay real and honest on here, so this was yesterday which started with very little sleep…

***4 hours of sleep, I actually woke up at 12.37am, I even laughed as that was still almost the day before still! 🤣

*** Early PT sessions but with a break so Sebastian and I took a 🌞 and very warm walk over to Starbucks for a pupachino (him not me)

*** Back to the gym and then we were done for the morning, feeling really 🥱 by this point

***One of my clients is a reflexologist and so I had a session with her yesterday, she knows me very well, she performed her magic on me with an energising and balancing hormones treatment. 😘 this is why today I feel so much better!

***Seb and I then had a lovely walk through the fields around Purton and saw a deer 🦌 and had lots of nice chats with other dog 🐶 owners

***I started getting in my own head yesterday afternoon though, about some of the aspects of the comp, my body hurting, whether I can do it, doubting myself, feeling all of the pressure!

***then I had an unpleasant call with a family member which triggered some pretty dark feelings and emotions and a headache…

***add on top some pretty awful health concerns which the doctor is unsure whether they are menopausal or CADASIL related or both at the moment and I spiralled… 🕳️

*** Bedtime was one of my earlier ones at 6.45pm (don’t judge me) 🤣😬, I took a sleeping pill 💊 and vowed for today to be better. Thanks 🙏 to Tony Lee for covering my class.

***I have slept for 9 hours, I don’t look as much like a bull frog 🐸 as I thought I might and I’ve put on a brighter 💄 so into the gym Sebastian and I go because the reflexology always resets me, my body and my mind, I’ve actually had some sleep, life isn’t waiting for me and I have plans this weekend..! Comp day is coming!

***And no there was not a single burp*e done all day! Although I suspect I will get some at training tonight… 💪

4 days until comp.

Bit nervy today as the day started with a headache. I woke up at 4am but made the mistake of going back to sleep (it’s my day off) and I think that’s how it triggered.

***protein shake and supplements with extra magnesium

***played hide and seek with the dog 😳

***had a fantastic massage 🦵 🍑 🦵 VERY painful but brilliant Donna Phillips put up with the squeals and sorted out my right legs perfectly

*** seeing the important stuff at comp is helpful, my sh*tty menopausal dry eyes which feel like they are giving up on the one job they got are crap! I need new glasses- I’ve been switching between Jeffrey Dahmer and Dame Edna this past year but need a new look - where are people getting decent frames 🤓 from? I went to Specsavers and came away with nowt!

***picked up oaty comp day fuel

***🐕 walk in between the rain showers

*** drilled my hang squat cleans 🏋️‍♀️ until I thought I was losing my mind 🤯

***headache came back 😫

***trained at the Empty Your Tank class - think I’ve chased it away 🏃‍♀️

***new comp socks arrived in time 😊

*** did not do 20 burp*es! 😤

***No early morning walk before PT this morning as even after I put Sebastian’s 🐶 harness on he refused to leave the sofa. He didn’t come to the gym today, I left him sleeping.

***I went to the gym and managed to hit myself in the face with a plyo box! If you look carefully there’s still a smear of lipstick 💄 💋 on it

***20 Burp*es (FML now)! 😵‍💫

*** Longer dog walk 🐕 to get steps in

*** Protein rich lunch 🥙

***New go faster energy drinks 🍷 packed up ready

Here’s the planning 📝 going into the week before it happens… Winter Soldier in Coventry.

- Dog walk for steps 🐾 👣
- Sunday training 🏋️‍♀️
- Food shop and supplies for comp day 🥗 🐟
- Posh hazelnut hot chocolate ☕️ at Coffi Lab in Marlborough with the posh dogs 🐶 and Sebastian 🐕
- Food prep 🧑‍🍳 to get protein and fibre into my diet 🥘 every day this week
- Comp outfit ready 👕 👟 👟
- Matching nails to come… 💅🏼
- Loads of water drunk 💧
