Practice empathy by seeing yourself in the other person’s shoes.
Try to see every situation from both sides. Are you an empath?
Do you find yourself affected by everything that happens around you? It is a beautiful gift to feel and love in such a deep way, but it’s also important to be compassionate toward yourself and protect your energy. The more clarity you have about who you are, and the more you’re able to accept and forgive your own shortcomings and mistakes, the more compassion you will have toward yourself and others.
Don’t confuse empathy with codependency. Don’t get so caught up in understanding others that you excuse bad behavior.
Don’t allow others to mistreat or hurt you. Connect to your inner child and heal your wounded parts. It is when you face your weaknesses and forgive and accept yourself that you begin to absolutely love yourself for who you are. When you do that, you will have true empathy and compassion for others. Remember to honor yourself, and don’t replace your needs with those of another.
