Looking after your back is about how you move and maintaining your posture throughout the day.

When you bend, lift, or spend long periods sitting or standing, a relaxed, balanced posture helps your spine cope better with load. Keeping your back long, moving from your hips, and changing position regularly can take a lot of unnecessary strain off your body.

Back pain often doesn’t start with an injury.
It usually begins as a bit of stiffness you notice in the morning, then slowly becomes something you feel after sitting, standing, or getting to the end of the day.

That’s often a sign your back isn’t moving as well as it should. Joints stiffen, muscles overwork, and your body starts to compensate which is when discomfort tends to hang around.

Thought I’d do a quick re-introduction 👋

I’m Nick - osteopath and founder of White and White Healthcare.

My background started in bodybuilding and martial arts, which pushed me to learn more about how the body really works. That path took me into sports therapy and eventually to earning my BOst (Hons) degree with first-class honours.

These days I help people move better, understand their pain, and get back to doing what they love with a clear, evidence-based approach.
