I wasn’t sure if I wanted to post this…
But I decided to, because I want people to know that you can look and feel good again, even when your body has changed, even when you’re not fully “back to normal”.
My body was put into surgical menopause overnight.
No gradual transition. Just sudden change.
But this isn’t the end of the world.
It’s a new beginning and a new reality.
A shift in hormones.
In energy.
In mood.
In body composition.
And as hard as it’s been, it’s also changed me, not just as a woman going through her own healing, but as a clinician caring for women every single day.
When my patients talk about fatigue, brain fog, low mood, sleep problems, body changes or not recognising themselves anymore…
I don’t just understand it academically.
I understand it from inside a body that’s had to adapt too.
That’s why my work has evolved.
Not just focusing on aesthetics, but on what’s always been close to my heart-functional medicine, women’s and men’s health, and real wellbeing.
I’m still learning.
How to care for myself differently.
How to listen instead of fight.
How to support my body instead of pushing it.
I’m not where I was before…
but I feel strong.
Grounded.
And genuinely proud of what this body has carried me through.
And one thing I’ve learnt that self-care isn’t just treatments, especially when your hormones are shifting and your body is healing.
It’s a lifestyle.
It’s choosing your health and wellbeing every day, with patience, not pressure.
I’m sharing this for anyone who feels like they’ve “fallen behind”.
You haven’t.
You’re adapting.
And sometimes, that’s the most powerful place to be.
