🐝 Bee Update! 🐝

Here at Reed’s Hearing Care we are passionate about the wildlife around us and support our local beekeeping society 🐝💛

Sadly, over the winter months we lost several of our hives, which has been sad to see. However, with the dedication and expertise of our fantastic beekeeper, Barry, we’re feeling hopeful for the season ahead.

As the flowers begin to bloom and nature comes back to life this spring, we’re looking forward to seeing our bees thrive and produce that wonderful honey we love 🍯

We currently have two hives which survived winter and we’ll be keeping you updated on their progress over the coming months; fingers crossed for a strong and successful season ahead for these incredible little insects! ☀️

Slightly belated post but what a beautiful sunny weekend we’ve just had! ☀️ ❤️

Sunday was the first day we spent together as a family of 4 in over 8 weeks!!

It was a perfect time to get outside, mowing the lawn, tidying the garden, collecting and examining bugs, watching the boys muddy monster truck shows and enjoying some wonderful fresh air and quality time together. 🥰🌳

Just a little reminder while using those mowers, strimmers and hedge trimmers — they can be surprisingly loud, so don’t forget your hearing protection.

Looking after your ears now helps protect your hearing for the future! 👂🙂

I was delighted to be asked to talk at Fabulous Networking yesterday and we covered a variety of topics from hearing health, protection, cognitive effects of hearing loss including how we process information and the amazing technology we now have in hearing aids! Today we celebrate the mums, grandmothers and mother figures who fill our lives with love 💐

But we also acknowledge this day can be hard for many who have lost their mums, long to be mums, or never had a mum 💔

At Reed’s Hearing Care, we know how precious life can be, how special it is to hear the voices that matter most — from laughter to simple “I love yous.” 🥰

So today we are thinking of you, no matter your situation and sending love. If you are struggling to hear those precious moments, please do get in touch 🙂

Today we celebrate the incredible women who inspire us every day. Women wear so many hats nowadays and juggling all those spinning plates can be hard.

📚✨ Happy World Book Day! ✨📚

We know that stories have the power to open up new worlds for every child. But for children with hearing loss, the classroom can sometimes make accessing those stories more challenging.

Teachers play a vital role in making learning inclusive so here are a few simple tips to support deaf and hard-of-hearing pupils in school and at home.

👩‍🏫 Face children when speaking so they can see facial expressions and lip movements
📖 Use visual aids, written instructions, and captions alongside spoken explanations
🔊 Reduce background noise where possible to help hearing devices work more effectively
📝 Check understanding regularly and encourage pupils to ask questions

When classrooms are inclusive, every child can enjoy the magic of books and learning both today on World Book Day, and every other day 🌍📚
