Tina People Therapy

Tina People Therapy Hi, if you are interested in counselling please contact me. 😊 I am continually training and updating knowledge for my personal development.

Hello, my name is Tina and I run a small and flexible practice offering hypnotherapy and counselling. I offer hypnotherapy for a variety of different issues from fears and phobias such as flying, dentists and emetophobia, controlling anxiety, confidence issues, breaking habits and of course for smoking cessation. The counselling service I offer is an integrative form of counselling, bringing together different elements of specific therapies, with the view that there is no single approach to treat clients. I have an AIM Award Level 3 Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills (QCF)- Cert Hyp CS Qualified and an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Ad Dip PC). I am a registered member of the National Hypnotherapy Society (MHS) and National Counselling Society (NCS). I am keen to support people in making positive changes within their lives and help people understand the power and ability that everyone has and is capable of to change things about themselves for the better. To explore how hypnotherapy or counselling could benefit, contact me for advice or to arrange a consultation.

⬆️ This is a hard truth that helps with releasing judgment😮‍💨

Notice the type of judgements you make on others, and reflect on how that shows up in the critiques you have for yourself📝

Probably more than we like to admit.

We tend to treat the “ostrich response” as something shameful, as if looking away means we’ve failed to engage with the world properly. I believe it is often a form of necessary protection.

We are literally not built to absorb everything. Not the sheer volume, not the pace, not the constant stream of things we’re expected to process and respond to.

When we try, in the hope of being more informed, we become overwhelmed, flooded, or numb.

It probably doesn’t help that the amount of wild news we’ve had in the past two and a half months feels like what used to unfold over a year… if not five.

At that point, it stops being useful and it just becomes weight that we have to carry.

We carry it in subtle ways, in our body, in our mood and in our sense of safety in the world.

So the work isn’t to force ourselves to stay open to everything at all times. It’s to know our own limits. To recognise we need boundaries.

Some days we might be able to take more in. Other days, when life already feels heavy, even the headlines can simply be too much. And it matters to know that.

Looking away, briefly, is important regulation.

For me, it’s the headlines in the morning, and maybe once more later in the day. Enough to stay connected, not so much that I lose myself in it.

When we recognise that we can step in to and step away from the constant battery of news and information, it means we have the emotional capacity to connect to ourselves and connect to others.

Connection is at the heart of being human. That connection enables us to make a difference. The news carries on well enough without us! It doesn’t need us. But our family, friends and colleagues do need our emotional presence.

That is why being an ostrich from time to time is a useful and valid behaviour 🐦 💕

Too often we get sucked into the vortex of doom scrolling. That habit, for many of us, is already in place. So, why not redirect it towards something that makes you feel good instead?

Say YES if you’re willing to give it a go. Which idea from this list resonates with you most?
