What are Angels?
I have to admit that I very much misunderstood the essence of what Angels are before I started working with them. I just totally had very little idea of their concept.
The term “Angels” triggered me massively as it reminded me of Religion, something I had turned my back on. Angels in Christian scriptures were depicted as mythical human-like forms with wings, which appeared at important times, but the mysticism surrounded by them didn’t really connect to my logical, scientific minded brain, especially at a time where I had disconnected from religion all together. I had seen and read too much, which I profoundly disagreed with, especially the indoctrination of religions in under developed countries, totally disrespecting of their own believes and traditions. There were other issues too but I won’t go there and all of it had literally turned me from being a faithful Christian to being an atheist. We only have to look at some of today’s politicians, who claim to be devout Christians or Catholics to see something is going very wrong. When power and money overrides kindness, compassion, love and equality, it is obvious that something needs to shift.
I am digressing let’s return to the Angels.
In her book on Angelic Reiki, Christine Core, endeavours to explain this complex principle very well.
To understand the true meaning of Angels, we have to go back to the times of ancient Egypt. This is where we witness the first winged images. They represented the Angel through their Goddess Maat. She is the Goddess depicted with wings and the feather of Truth placed on her head. Why we think of Angels when we see a feather! Maat represents Cosmic Law in the ancient Egyptian traditions. Cosmic law is all about the Laws of Creation or the different creational Archetypes.
Everything has to come from a basic principle of creation and creation is linked to the number three: The Holy Trinity, the father, son and Holy Spirit. Isis, Osiris and Horus, Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma are all examples of this . All this divine energy is linked and represented through geometry. Sadly the meaning of this has been lost by many as our understanding of mathematics and how it interlinks with our universe and building blocks of everything that matters has become so poor. We can see this geometry still reflected in architectural structures but it is so much more than that….
There is great beauty in the order of the universe, just look at the amazing design in flowers or even more magical look at the cells which turn a foetus into a beautiful baby, all constructed as building blocks of life.
There is definite proof in science when we look at unified consciousness, Hadron’s subatomic particles proved that when one particle was submitted to certain conditions, the same particle miles away reacted in a similar way. I personally reached out to a scientist friend today, who was right at the moment in time explaining this in the exact concept, which totally confirmed my theory yet again. Somehow my subconscious had tapped into his, crazy yes but it happens all the time!
He explains how us humans only see a tiny part of the spectrum of light that exists and that our hearing only hears a tiny part of sound that exists. If some physics hypotheses are correct we only inhabit 3 spacial dimensions out of the far bigger reality which we call the universe. From this limited perspective we can see all the different worlds reacting to each other (animal kingdom, oceans, sky, insects, humans, …) The bigger question is if we are limited to see and hear then how can we prove that nothing else exists in our world or in any part of this vast universe? What if we were able to unblock ourselves from the things which are stopping us experiencing the other things that are around us but we can’t see? What if we someone managed to regain the knowledge which would explain all this? Angels are an idea talked about by humans but they are beyond human comprehension for most because most of us struggle to perceive them in their true form, but they have been talked about enough by too many to totally dismiss them.
So if the wings of Goddess Maat according to the Ancient Egyptians represent the creative principles of the universe than Angels represent the laws of creative energy of numbers and shapes. Why we see more and more Angels depicted with geometric shapes or depicted as magnificent constructs of geometric shapes. David Essery of New Moon Art is particularly good at expressing Archangels like this and I have shared below his majestic image of Archangel Raphael.
When it comes to Angelic energies, in a similar way to the construction of the universe, there is a hierarchy in the different energies we can incur. Every Archangel reflects an original energetic design aspect or in other ways an archetype of the divine energy.
For example Archangel Ratziel is the “male” energetic principle of creation where as Archangel Zaphkiel is the “female” counterpart. Of each of these two principles there are many different aspects and those are the Angels linked to the different aspects of Male and Female.
Archangel Michael is likely the most well known Archangel and his energetic archetype is “transformation”. Every time we let go and start something knew, the Divine principle, Archangel Michael, is energetically working with us transforming our situation, transmuting old and creating new.
Let’s look at Archangel Gabriel. Archangel Gabriel brings us “discernment”energetically. He helps us to understand the difference between our own emotional projections and what is from the Divine creation. He guides souls to connect to their physical bodies, he grounds them in. His energy comes through as Violet, he allows us to manifest independence, the stone connected to his archetype is quartz, spirit animals linked to this energy are Elephant, Tortoise and Toad.
How we perceive Angels therefore is very personal. Some of us may perceive them as winged beings, but many will experience or feel them as energy or a specific colour or sound if you feel connected strongly to sound.
All I can add to this from personal experience is that they can be mighty powerful and are a pure reflection of the Divine. They don’t judge, they just love and are continuously there to help us …. but we have to ask.
“Ask and you shall Receive” is their continuous mantra. We are all worthy of help, no suffering is worse than another even if that is how we perceive it.
On a personal note I don’t class myself as an atheist anymore, working closely with these beautiful energies through Angelic Reiki allowed me to reconnect to the Divine and feel more connected and at peace, knowing that we are all supported by this Divine collective force of creation.
Sending you much love from the Angels 😇❤️👼
