Feedback Friday's.

Compliments to St George’s Community Hub from Martyna at Works4U.

Martyna shared lovely feedback after Works4U held their corporate volunteering day at St George’s Hub and it was a great success! The team gave one of our rooms a much needed glow up using paint kindly donated by Johnsons and Anthony Axfords. It looks completely transformed.

A big thank you to everyone involved, all the volunteers did an amazing job.

Last week Brierley Community Hub visited the Imperial War Museum North.

Pippa, Team Leader, said, "We really enjoyed exploring the exhibits and seeing all the old vehicles. Everyone got involved in the sensory experience, smelling the different 'war scents' and trying to guess what they were and listening to the story in the auditorium.

The room went very quiet as we watched and listened to the powerful war stories. Afterwards, we headed over to The Lowry to enjoy some delicious fish and chips from Harry Ramsden’s."

A huge thank you to Johnstone's Decorating Centre and Anthony Axfords Ltd for their generous donation of wooden dado and paint for our project.

We are very grateful for their support. Our unused, unloved room has been transformed into a lovely quiet chill out space for the people we support at St George’s to enjoy.

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that our mental health matters, and it’s okay to talk about how we’re feeling.

Life can feel overwhelming at times, but no one has to face it alone. Let’s keep the conversation going and look out for one another. 💬💜

It's World Mental Health Day - a day to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters.🌍💜

This year our theme is ‘overwhelm’. Many of us are feeling overwhelmed by global events and what can feel like non-stop negative news.

It’s okay to feel this way and it’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you are going through.

Take time today to start a conversation with a friend about what good mental health means to you.💜

Weekly Round Up. 💫

It’s been another busy and exciting week across our hubs, supported living and in our local community.

Poppy had a fantastic afternoon at the Age UK Dementia Café for the (unofficial) Olympics, hosted by Foundation 92 and JMW Solicitors. Congratulations to silver medal winner, Keith!

Andrew went birthday shopping and treated himself to a delicious Wing Stop lunch at the Trafford Centre, happy early birthday!

Wayne and Chris made a new furry friend named Wilf during their walk in the local park, such a lovely dog!

Michael and Gladys had a brilliant morning exploring the Science and Industry Museum.

Paula led a creative arts and crafts session at Poppy Dementia Support as we prepared for our upcoming Black History Month project.

St George’s Community Hub enjoyed a lovely trip to Smithills Farm. Everyone loved meeting the animals, took a scenic walk, and had lunch in the café.

And finally, a very happy 89th birthday to Keith. Keith has been part of our Aspire community for many years and often joins us with his son and grandson.

We look forward to next week.

The people we support from Brierley Community Hub, visited Tian Cheng Temple in Little Hulton for a fun keyring making workshop.

“Everyone really enjoyed it! It’s lovely that the temple is just around the corner from our hub, we’ll definitely be going back for another activity,” said an Aspire Support Worker.

Another day, another adventure.

This time St George's Community Hub went to Manchester Museum. They had a great day looking at fossils, dinosaurs, and all the exhibits.
