St George's had a lovely morning at The Lowry šŸŽØ

They enjoyed the Quentin Blake and Me exhibition, explored LOWRY 360, and spent time in Modern Life: The LS Lowry Collection.

The highlight was the amazing feeling of ā€œstepping intoā€ the painting of people walking to the football match, and seeing so many of Lowry’s famous work close up. āš½šŸ–¼ļø

Trip to the Women’s World Cup!

Greg, one of our volunteers who helps out at both St George’s Community Hub and Humphrey Booth Resource Centre, received free tickets from the council to the Women’s Rugby World Cup as a thank you for his help after being nominated for a volunteer award.

Greg had a great day watching the Australia vs Samoa match. Chris Seward, our Dementia Lead, went with him to cheer for Samoa. Unfortunately, it wasn’t their day, they lost 73-0!

This week’s adventures at Aspire.

Michael and Wayne made the most of the sunshine with a trip to Fleetwood beach.

Daniel’s confidence is growing each week during his bike sessions at Waterside Specialist Support.

Jamie, Sarah, Katrina, Christine and Alan had a day out at Bolton Museum, while Zainab and Joanne visited Southport. A kind person passing by gave Zainab a Disney Princess teddy, which made her day.

One movie trip to see the new Jurassic Park film, followed by hot dogs, chocolate and some birthday trainers from Skechers for Claire.

Michael enjoyed a trip to Heaton Park and fed the animals.

Michael celebrated his birthday in style with a big birthday party with all of his friends.

Jamie rounded off the week with a trip to The Lowry, where he picked up a new book and treated himself to an ice cream.

From beaches to museums, films to cycling and sensory activities, it’s been a busy, fun week!

Emergency Services Day returned to the Trafford Centre, and Jamie, Katrina, and Chris made sure to be there.

The event was filled with education and entertainment with up to 100 emergency service vehicles, live demonstrations, and interactive displays offering a rare behind-the-scenes look at the lifesaving work carried out across the region every day.

An Aspire Support Worker said, ā€œWithin a few hours, Katrina had signed up to be a police officer, join the Army, and drive an ambulance!ā€

It sounds like it was a great day and from the photos, it was enjoyed by all!
