Cycle Morning at Alexandra Community Hub in the sunshine 🚲

Len from Alexandra Community Support said: "I think it’s great. I like using the hand bikes. It’s really good and I’d recommend it to anyone.ā€

We work in partnership with Wheels for All and run regular sessions using our own adapted bikes at Waterside and Alexandra Community Hub. Our staff, trained by Wheels for All, deliver sessions both outdoors and indoors to make cycling accessible for everyone. šŸš“ā€ā™€ļø

Yesterday, Brierley Community Hub had another great trip to Waterside, where the group enjoyed cooking in Helen’s Kitchen.

The visit to Helen’s Kitchen came from our ā€œYou Said, We Didā€ forums, where the people we support share their ideas and we help make them happen.

Everyone got involved, washing, chopping, and preparing a fresh salad, then making their own toasties for lunch using the toastie maker.

It was a lovely day, and everyone had a great time.

Helen’s Kitchen was created by the Waterside team in memory of our much-loved colleague Helen. She was at the heart of the kitchen and always supported the people we support to cook and bake. šŸ’›

Join us for our annual ā€˜Forget Me Not’ Dementia Remembrance Celebration, to mark Dementia Action Week.

In partnership with RHS Garden Bridgewater, this special event is an opportunity to remember and celebrate those we have lost to, or who are living with, Dementia.

Beginning at 11am, you’re invited to take part in a free forget-me-not seed planting activity to create a small tribute to take home. This will be followed by a short memorial service in the wellbeing garden, including reflective readings and a quiet moment of remembrance.

Afterwards, you are welcome to enjoy the beautiful gardens
and surroundings at your own pace.

This free event is open to everyone. There’s no need to book, simply come along and take part.

Cinema TripšŸŽ¬

A cinema trip was suggested by Philip at our You Said, We Did forum, and we made it happen with a visit this week to watch the new Michael Jackson film! Gillian was especially excited as a huge fan, and it’s safe to say it didn’t disappoint.

Raymond, Gillian and Philip all said they would highly recommend the film, and even enjoyed a sing and a little dance along in parts!

Pippa, Team Manager, said: ā€œEveryone came back to Brierley happy and full of smiles. Another forum idea successfully ticked off the listā€ āœ”ļø

Yesterday’s celebrations for Salford’s centenary.

From a party organised by DANCING WITH DEMENTIA at Humphrey Booth Resource Centre, where people spent the afternoon singing and dancing together, to the people we support and support workers from Supported Living visiting Salford Civic Centre to take part in the Salford 100 photo opportunity and connect with others in the community.

It was a great day celebrating Salford’s 100th birthday. šŸŽ‰

St George’s had another lovely visit to our community plot at RHS Garden Bridgewater 🌱

Last week, everyone got stuck into pruning plants and tidying the space, helping the flowers and vegetables already growing to really thrive.

We’re proud to partner with RHS Community Gardening, supporting people to spend time outdoors, learn new skills, and enjoy being in nature.

It’s always a great day in the garden! 🌼
