Nooooo! (In the most Yorkshire accent) I haven’t taken up plastering. But…
This week, and I were discussing some of the most common issues I’m currently seeing in clinic. In particular, there’s been a noticeable increase in rotator cuff injuries.
We broke down how many of these problems appear to be work-related — especially among overhead manual workers such as plasterers — and how many are sport-related, linked to the rise in participation in CrossFit and HYROX over recent years. We also discussed the range of exercises in the law events and how the pursuit of winning can sometimes compromise technique, increasing the risk of injury.
Tomorrow, all being well (and assuming I don’t get distracted), I’ll be sharing another post on how prevalent rotator cuff injuries are within the wider population.
