Today is Red Nose Day π΄ a fundraising campaign created by Comic Relief to end child poverty throughout the world π
We thought we would take this opportunity to talk about first aid for noses π
Nosebleeds are very common in children but can be a bit scary and upsetting
π΄ Sit them down with the head tipped forwards
π΄ Pinch the soft part of the nose for up to 10 minutes
π΄Tell them no picking ππ» or blowing π€§
π΄ If itβs still bleeding after 30 minutes seek professional advice
Children also regularly stick things up their noses π
In the first instance encourage them to blow their nose as it may come out π€§
If it appears lodged leave it where it is and take your child to A&E or a minor injuries unit
Depending on your childβs age try and show how to breathe through their mouth instead of their nose
Common objects found up noses include beads, food, Lego, playdoh and pebbles
πif it is any kind of battery then this is an emergency π¨
