This morning’s breastfeeding group was lovely. A thoughtful gift from the lovely and Ada who came for the last time today after coming since Ada was tiny. Three new mums and babies one of which was only just 8 days old 😍
Lots of things covered today, worries about feeding out in public, distractible babies, Tongue tie, laid back position, pain, cranial osteopathy, breast compressions, feeding after a breast reduction, power pumping, Galactogogues ( lactation inducers) and more.
I run the group for free so that people can access support and advice but also to have a reason to get out of the house, some days that’s all that is needed and to meet friends who are going through similar experiences.
If you know someone who would benefit , tag them and come along.
Wednesdays in term time 10-11.30. No group next week as it is half term for my kids.

🌟STARTING NEXT MONTH 🌟
Matrescence is the word used to describe a women’s journey into motherhood- from conception, pregnancy, birth and through parenting.
Real and profound changes happen during this time, physically our body’s alter, mentally and emotionally we change and adapt but also quite remarkable unseen changes occur in our brains, particularly in the early weeks and months after giving birth.
Through my own experiences of Matrescence and my observations as a Health Visitor and Lactation Consultant I have gained a deep understanding into just how important friendships, learning and support is during this phase of life.

I had a lovely visit to baby session this morning. It was so nice to drop in and have a chat with the parents and babies. We talked about breastfeeding, allergies, intolerances and general illness. It’s such a fabulous setting for under 5’s , Lauren and her team have done a wonderful job. The baby sessions will be running every week and we are just figuring out how often I will be popping in, perhaps once a month. Keep an eye out!

Celebratory Cappachino in my new mug( thanks ) to celebrate completing my recertification as an IBCLC. Such a relief. Now back to work.
