Open today 10–4.

Late last night I finally cleared the York shop of almost all the furniture and, bar a few final bits, I’m now fully in Tadcaster. There’s still one last push in York with cleaning, painting one final wall and handing back the keys, but it feels very close now.

The upstairs at No 21 has definitely taken the brunt of the move and is currently overflowing with boxes waiting to be sorted, although slowly it’s all starting to come together. I’ve somehow managed to squeeze my old French antique counter into the new shop too, although the sunlight here is showing every mark and fingerprint so it’s clearly due a proper clean.

I’m still waiting for my proper signage to go up so if you’re trying to find me, I’m right next to Helen’s on Kirkgate.

I can’t wait to finally be in one place again. Fully focused, creating new products, building the workshops and getting to know more people here in Tadcaster. I have so many ideas for this space and although I know it will take time to grow into everything I want it to be, it already feels calmer and more grounded than the last few years have felt.

Some scents feel less like perfume and more like a shift in atmosphere.

Spring Awakening was created to bring that feeling of fresh air and gentle reset into a space — soft floral notes balanced with green citrus and a subtle warmth underneath. Clean, calming and quietly uplifting without feeling overpowering. The kind of scent that makes a room feel lighter, slower and a little more peaceful to spend time in.

Hand-poured in small batches in our Tadcaster workshop using our natural wax blend.

The shop will be open in Tadcaster today from midday if you fancy calling in for a smell while the shelves are still slowly coming together around us. 🌿

What a difference a week makes 🌱
I’ll be back open today from 10-4 . I am still moving things in and at some point this week I need to get a van and get the last bits out of York. I have no idea where I’m putting them at this stage so it will be an interesting week .

Today was my first full Saturday in Tadcaster and I don’t think I realised quite how much I needed this slower rhythm.

Finishing at four o’clock and being home five minutes later still feels a little surreal. No park and ride. No A64 traffic. No navigating crowds of matching sashes and inflatable microphones (or 🫣 ) before I’ve even had chance to drink my coffee. Just locking the door, walking to the car and heading home while the evening still feels gentle.

It’s a different kind of busy here too. People stop to chat. They tell me about their week. They ask questions about scents and oils and workshops and actually take the time to look around. It feels calmer, more connected somehow.

I’m finishing the day pouring more of the sleep candles as they’ve quietly become one of the most reached-for things in the shop this week, which feels rather lovely. There’s something very comforting about the thought of these little candles making their way into local homes this evening, hopefully helping people slow down, switch off and sleep a little more deeply.

A very different Saturday to the ones I’ve known for the last few years… and I think I’m starting to understand that maybe different was exactly what I needed 🤍
