Pilates is for everyone

I am a member of The Pilates Foundation, and my training to be a teacher took over 600 hours of practical and theoretical study, covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, the history and philosophy of Pilates, ethics and business practice. I also carried out postural case studies, teaching practice and observations, and exams, both written and practical. I am fully insured and hold a First Aid certificate.

I am required to carry out Continuing Professional Development in order to remain a member of The Pilates Foundation, which is dedicated to maintaining excellence in the practice and teaching of Pilates. The CPD takes the form of attending regular classes for my own self awareness as well as courses on the latest scientific research and developments in theoretical knowledge.

I have completed courses on Mindfulness and a course run by the University of Nottingham on “The Abdomen”, covering both internal and external anatomy, and the psychology of the abdomen in bodily self-awareness. I am also studying with Oxford University to better understand back pain and its treatment using cognitive behavioural therapy.

You can be assured that at the heart of my practice is your physical well-being, and I am able to work in collaboration with other health professionals in order to assist you on the way to better movement for life.
