Over the past few days, we have been keeping very busy with colouring, word searches, knitting, creating music, and playing cards, perfect for More...Creativity.

It is so lovely to see the ladies and gents put their skills to use, get themselves involved and engage with others during this time.

I have been with Furze Hill coming to the end of my 3rd week. As well as getting to know the lovely people living here, learning their likes/dislikes through activities, I have been updating the notice boards and door signs.

Each of the bedrooms have a personalised sign with a picture of them and their first name with interests of theirs, for example Judith's favourite animal is a butterfly and her two favourite colours are blue and purple.

The door signs to the other rooms have been updated with bigger writing and more appropriate pictures of what the room is for people who find it easier to see the pictures instead of struggling to see the writing.

Our "you said, we did" board has been updated to bold colourful pictures of what activities residents have mentioned and our response of when the activities will happen, again with appropriate photos relating to the activities.

Our Notice Boards have been updated with clear colourful posters of a few activities we hold at Furze Hill, our weekly planner, Hello April with flower of the month in the background which will be changed each month to the relevant month and flower, cut outs of the monthly flower and then to finish off, an up to resident and relatives meeting poster.

Here is our updated one to one/ grab and go trolly. Along the bottom shelf we have different level puzzles, and on the right we have a variety of board games.

On the middle shelf we have some newer magazines, on the right we have quiz books, reminiscence books and reminiscing flash cards.

Along the top we have different card games and, in the basket, we have coloured pens/ pencils.

In the folder we have a variety of colouring pages, coloured paper, plain paper, word searches, cross words and scrabble.

Behind the folder we have a few word search books, usually along the top row there is a More...Sensory square but this was in use at the time of the photo.

It was such an amazing day at our Furze Hill Lodge Summer Party.

The Mayor and his wife attended, gave out raffle prizes and spent time talking to the lovely people living with us and families.

Everyone enjoyed dancing and singing along to the fabulous entertainment, diving into the delicious BBQ and strawberries and chocolate, jumping on our bouncy castle, and taking part in our raffle.

A great day was had by all!

Here at Furze Hill Lodge, those living with us enjoyed completing some very interesting jigsaw puzzles as part of our More...Thinking session (13 to 64 pieces).

We also had lots of laughs with the puzzle ball. Everyone had a great time.
