The local roads and pavements remain very tricky to navigate with fresh snow and rain overnight on top of ice underneath making it very slippy out. Please let us know if you wish to reschedule your appointment or have a phone call instead - this is no problem. ❄️

Good morning, the local roads remain very snowy and icy and difficult to navigate. ❄️ Our health centre car park has been ploughed but is still very icy and the access road from Craighill terrace has not been gritted.
If you wish your appointment to be by phone today rather than coming in this is no problem please just let our admin team know. πŸ“ž

"The flu jab is only for older people" ❌ Let's bust this myth!
If you're under 65 but have a health condition, you need the flu vaccine too.

Our walk-in clinics are open THIS WEEK at Inverness Vaccination Centre, Eastgate Shopping Centre:
πŸ“… 19th (today!), 22nd, 23rd and 24th December - NO APPOINTMENT & NO ID NEEDED
⏰Open 10am-4pm (closed 12.30-1pm) & Xmas eve 10am-1pm

Who's eligible under 65?
βœ… Anyone with asthma or other respiratory conditions
βœ… People with diabetes, heart conditions, kidney or liver disease
βœ… Anyone with a weakened immune system
βœ… All pregnant women
βœ… Unpaid carers (including young carers)
βœ… Healthcare and social care workers
βœ… Many other groups

"But my condition is controlled" - That's great! But you're still at higher risk if you catch flu. Even well-managed conditions can become serious complications if flu strikes.

Last winter over 6,500 adults in Scotland were hospitalised with flu. Many were under 65. Don't become a statistic this winter πŸ’™

The vaccine is safe, effective, and FREE for eligible groups. It takes minutes and could save you weeks of serious illness.

From January 2026, children will be offered a varicella (chickenpox) vaccine as part of the routine childhood schedule for the first time in Scotland.

This is part of a wider programme of changes to childhood immunisations that are rolling out across the UK following a detailed review by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

Cases of flu are high this winter, so if you’re wondering whether it’s just a cold or you’re floored with flu here’s what to do.

Most symptoms can be safely managed at home. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and use paracetamol or ibuprofen to ease aches and fever. Your pharmacist can advise on cold and flu remedies.

Antibiotics won’t help with colds and flu as they are viruses – time and self-care are best.

To stop the spread:
πŸ’‰ get your flu vaccination if you are eligible
🧼 wash your hands regularly
😷 cover coughs and sneezes
