A healthy mouth is essential for a healthy life, and this year’s theme reminds us that “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life.”

Good oral health supports your wellbeing at every age - simple daily habits like brushing twice a day, reducing sugar, and attending regular dental check-ups make a big difference.
Poor oral health can lead to pain, discomfort, and affect your confidence, so taking small steps today helps protect your future health.

🌟 World Kidney Day 2026 – 🌟
Did you know that over SEVEN million people in the UK are living with kidney disease? Far more that most people realise! It could be a neighbour, a friend, a colleague… or even you.
This World Kidney Day, taking place on Thursday 12 March 2026, I’m supporting the campaign to help bust the myths around kidney disease and raise awareness of the crucial role our kidneys play.

World Kidney Day (WKD) is an annual global awareness and education event, held on the second Thursday in March every year.

🚭 It’s National No Smoking Day – There’s No Better Time to Quit!

Today is National No Smoking Day, the perfect moment to take a step toward better heart health.
Smoking is extremely harmful to your heart. The chemicals in ci******es make your artery walls sticky, causing fatty build‑ups that can clog your arteries. This increases your risk of heart attack and stroke.

But the benefits of quitting start almost immediately:
✨ After 20 minutes – Your heart rate and blood pressure begin returning to normal.
✨ After 2–3 days – Your sense of smell and taste improves.
✨ After 1 year – Your risk of heart attack is half that of a smoker.
Quitting also boosts your energy, improves your skin, strengthens your immune system, and protects those around you from second‑hand smoke.
⏰It’s never too late to quit. Even stopping later in life adds years to your life expectancy.
If you’re thinking about making today the day you quit, we’re here to support you - and every small step counts.🚶

📣 Cervical Screening Updates – Faster, Easier & More Convenient!
An important update that will help make cervical screening easier and more accessible for our patients.
The NHS is moving towards digital‑first communication for cervical screening invitations, reminders, and results. This means many patients will now receive updates directly through the NHS App or by text message.
Here’s what this means for you:
📱 Faster updates: Invitations and reminders can arrive instantly on your phone, helping you stay on track with your screening.
🌍 More accessible: Digital messages are easier to receive and reduce the chance of important letters getting lost in the post.
💬 Still need letters? Don’t worry — if digital messages can’t be delivered, traditional letters will still be sent.
🧾 Results straight to you: Screening results will also start to be sent digitally.
👉 What you can do now:
Download the NHS App and make sure notifications are turned on.
Cervical screening saves around 5,000 lives every year in the UK - staying informed and attending your appointment really does make a difference.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 💚

This month, we’re helping raise awareness of ovarian cancer — a disease affecting 7,500 women in the UK every year, yet long‑term survival rates remain too low.

Know the key symptoms:
Persistent bloating
Pelvic or abdominal pain
Feeling full quickly
Changes in urinary habits

Let’s take steps toward earlier detection, better outcomes and a future where ovarian cancer is survivable for all women. 💪

💛🎗 March is Brain Tumour Awareness Month 🎗💛
This month more than 1,000 people will find out they have a brain tumour. Together, we can help raise awareness of this devastating disease and support the vital research needed to find a cure.
🧢 Wear A Hat Day – Friday 27th March
Pop on your favourite hat, gather your friends, family, colleagues and community and help raise life‑changing funds. A simple hat can spark a powerful conversation.
✨ Light Up the UK
Help illuminate landmarks across the country in pink and yellow to shine a light on the importance of brain tumour research. You can also join the moment at 7:30pm on Sunday 1st March by lighting a candle and sharing a photo.
💬 Why It Matters
One in three people in the UK know someone affected by a brain tumour. More than 100,000 people are estimated to be living with the impact of a diagnosis. By raising awareness, we can help fund essential research and support those affected.
💖 Get Involved
Whether you take part in Wear A Hat Day, light up a landmark, host a fundraiser, or simply share this message, your support brings hope to thousands.
