🎶 Yesterday we were treated to a brilliant performance from the wonderful Olive - Wedding and Events Singer! 🎤

The room was full of smiles, tapping feet, and plenty of singing along - and it's safe to say she was a big hit with residents, families, and staff alike.

Thank you Olive - you made it a really special afternoon. 💛

💐 Happy Mother's Day from Standon House💐

This weekend we had a beautiful Mother's Day get-together here at Standon, and it was a reminder of just how special our ladies are.
So many of them are mothers, and grandmothers, and great-grandmothers - and the love in the home was something else. We hope every one of them felt celebrated and, not just on Sunday.

To all the mums, and to all the families who made the day special - thank you. 🤍

Evelyne’s 91st Birthday Celebration 🎉🎂

On Friday we had the pleasure of celebrating Evelyne’s 91st birthday here at Standon House.

Evelyne enjoyed a lovely day marked with birthday cake and a present, and a lovely tea party with her daughter and friends to mark the occasion.

A very happy 91st birthday, Evelyne - we hope you had a wonderful day celebrating! 💜

✨ This Week at Standon ✨

We kicked things off with a wonderful visit from Anker Bridge Nursery 👶🏻👧🏼🧒🏽 The little ones brought so much joy and laughter 💕
Our exercise class got everyone moving 💪 and our green-thumbs enjoyed planting cress 🌱We made sausage rolls and pizzas 🥐🍕 Bingo was, as always, a firm favourite! 🎰🏆We were treated to beautiful music from Simon the Vintage Singer 🎤🎶 and finished the week with a lovely Valentine's party and crafts 💝🌹🎨

Huge thanks to our amazing team for bringing it all together! 💙

What a treat today at Standon! 🎤✨
We were delighted to welcome back Simon Partridge - The Vintage Singer today, and as always, he didn't disappoint! 🎶 Simon had everyone singing along to all the classics they know and love, with plenty of toe-tapping and smiles all round.
The atmosphere was wonderful, with residents really getting into the music and enjoying every moment. A big thankyou to Simon, always a pleasure when he visits! 💕😊

What a wonderful day at Standon! 🎉

Yesterday we had a fantastic visit from Anker Bridge Nursery 👶🏻👧🏼🧒🏽 The little ones brought so much joy and energy with them, and our residents absolutely loved spending time with them. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and lovely conversations between the generations 💕
Later in the day, we got creative making fruit skewers 🍓🍇🍊🫐 Residents enjoyed choosing their favourite fruits and creating their own colourful and tasty treats. A delicious activity that everyone really enjoyed!
Two brilliant activities that made for a really special day all round 😊

🦉 A fantastic animal visit at Standon 🐍

Yesterday we had a fantastic visit from The Animal Man, which everyone loved as usual. Residents had the chance to see and learn about a range of animals, including an owl, snakes, lizards, and a honey bear.

It was a really engaging session, with lots of curiosity, conversation, and a few brave moments too. A lovely experience that brought plenty of smiles all round.

🎉 Celebrating Joe’s 98th birthday 🎂

On Sunday, we celebrated Joe’s 98th birthday. It was a lovely occasion, and we were honoured to welcome Joe’s family and host a meal for everyone to enjoy together.

A special milestone and a really nice day shared with those closest to him.

🎹 A lovely week at Standon 🎶

It was a lovely week at Standon, capped off with a visit from Ewan the Pianist, Shaw Piano, who the residents always enjoy.

Ewan’s music filled the home and created such a relaxed, happy atmosphere, with residents sitting back, listening along, and reminiscing. It’s always a pleasure to welcome him back, and he never fails to put smiles on faces.

🎉 Yesterday we celebrated Jill’s 93rd birthday 🎂

It was a really special day as Jill marked her 93rd birthday, with lots of smiles, laughter, and birthday cheer shared throughout the home.

🪺🎨 Creative fun at Standon 🎨🪺

Yesterday we enjoyed two lovely creative activities. We made bird feeders ready to hang outside and painted colourful suncatchers, which brought plenty of colour, focus and smiles all round.

A really relaxed and enjoyable day, and a great start to a week with lots more to look forward to 💛

As we see out the year, we’d like to wish our residents, their families, and our wonderful, hardworking staff a very happy New Year.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of life at Standon House this year - for the support, the smiles, and the moments shared along the way.

And a big thank you to Simon Partridge - The Vintage Singer for a fantastic performance today, which was the perfect way to round off the year.

We’re looking forward to the year ahead and wish everyone a happy, healthy start to the New Year.
