Maria Markuss - Podiatrist

Maria qualified from Salford University in 2011 with a BSc Hons in Podiatry and has worked solely in private practice since then. She joined Footsteps in 2013.

Maria’s main interests in Podiatry:

- Treating and maintenance of nails
- Corn treatments
- Treatment and advice on dry cracked skin
- General foot hygiene advice

Maria balances her work with looking after 3 children and spending time with her husband. She enjoys creative writing and reading in her spare time to relax. She also enjoys playing board games with her family and having family days out. Maria also has an eclectic taste in music

✨Meet the team✨

Jordan qualified in 2016 with a BSc honours degree in sports therapy. Then moved on to an apprenticeship with national one rugby team. Working with many sports over the years including women’s football, volleyball and rugby union. For the past 6 years, Jordan not only works at Footsteps but at Aston Villa academy.

Jordan’s main interests in sports therapy are:

- Lower limb
- Biomechanics
- Paediatric and growth related injuries
- Soft tissue release

Outside of clinic Jordan’s interests are competing in hyrox, going camping in her camper-van and hiking through the mountains. She is also a keen baker when she gets the time.

Jordan is in clinic Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays 10am till 7pm.

Here he is pictured with our clinicians Jonathan and Lewis and his Phits 3D printed custom orthotics for use in his football boots.

✨Meet the team✨

Sue Pike BSc Hons Podiatry. Sue has worked in the NHS for 26 years and has been a member of the Footsteps team since 2006.

Sue’s clinical expertise is in:
- Neurological conditions including stroke, MS and Parkinson’s disease
- Nail surgery
-Wound care and management of the high risk foot
-diabetes
-foot health and education
- routine care

Sue’s carer in the NHS has involved working as an advanced specialist podiatrist, she is also a Council member with the Royal College of Podiatry and has worked on policy and clinical guidance with various national bodies. Currently Sue works full time with the NHS as a Speak Up Guardian where she helps staff to raise patient safety concerns, she has post graduate expertise in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and Wellbeing and Employment Law. She spends time teaching and facilitating workshops with a variety of staff and as such gets to travel and meet a diverse population.

Outside of work Sue has many interests including sport, walking in the countryside with Scotland, Wales and the Peak District being regular areas to get out in the hills. She also enjoys music, especially live events, and travel with family and friends. Sue spends time volunteering for staff networks and was a chair person of a local scout group for many years.

Sue is at footsteps on a Thursday.

Megan Roberts- Podiatrist BSc Hons Podiatry, MA Social Work

Megan qualified in 2025 with a BSc Honours degree in Podiatry from the University of Wolverhampton.

🦶Megan’s main interest in Podiatry:

- General Podiatry
- Specialist verrucae treatments (Swift)
- Insoles and orthotics
-Fungal nail

Outside of work Megan enjoys bouldering, walking her dog Sage, reading and baking.

Megan is in the clinic Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8am-6pm and some Saturdays 8:30- 1:30.

Connie Regan - Podiatrist BSc Hons Podiatry MRCPod

Connie qualified with a BSc Honours degree in Podiatry from the University of Brighton and spent her first year qualified working for the NHS in Canterbury.

She has now moved back to her home city of Birmingham and has joined the footsteps team.

🦶Connie’s main interests in Podiatry are:

- General foot maintenance
- ⁠Nail surgery
- Heel pain
- ⁠diabetic foot care
- verrucae treatments (Swift)
- Insoles and orthotics
- ⁠patient education

Connie is into fitness, plays netball and attends the gym regularly, and promotes a healthy lifestyle to all her patients.

Connie is in the clinic Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and some Saturdays 8:30am - 6pm.

Ewan Turnbull - Sports Rehabilitation Therapist BSc Hons Sports rehab MSc Strength and Conditioning BASRaT.

Ewan qualified in 2021 from the University of Bolton with a BSc Honours degree in Sports Rehabilitation Therapy. He then completed a Masters Degree in 2024 in Strength and Conditioning with the University of Wolverhampton. He has worked with Walsall club for 4 seasons.

💪 Ewan’s main interest in Sports Therapy:

- Injury Rehabilitation
- Gym based Rehabilitation
- Manual therapy
- Exercise prescription
- Shockwave and Laser

Outside of work Ewan is a very keen gym goer. Ewan is enthusiastic about football and supports Manchester United.

Ewan is in the clinic Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30am - 7pm Saturday 8:30am - 1:30pm.
