Thomas Whitman enlisted in Lismore N.S.W 21/09/1915
Landed in Egypt May 1916. Transferred to England September 1916, Landed France October 1916.
AWOL Jan 1917, Absent April 1917,AWOL again July 1917.
Sentenced to 10 years penal service (suspended) for desertion in October 1917.
On 4th June he suffered penetrating shell wounds to his head, abdomen & thigh & died of wounds the same day.
This medal is £65 plus postage.
