I am The number 1 Resilience and Stress Specialist in the UK. Stress is a part of most people’s lives. The challenge for most of us is actually being aware of when we are stressed and having mechanisms in place to help deal with it. Many coaches concentrate on Stress, whereas I like to talk about Resilience and the ability to bounce forward. I have a particular expertise in this field and in self

development and conflict in the workplace. I always offer a free 10 minute chat to ascertain compatibility. Please be reassured I am here to help resolve conflict and make life easier.

I feel very fortunate to have a cherished group of friends in my life which has got me thinking of where I have met these fantastic people.

🏫Friends from school days
🎾Tennis friends
👶People connected to my family
💼Business networking groups and opportunities

We keep in touch in many ways - phone calls, emails, social media and meeting up face to face. We've gone on days out and holidays.

There are so many memories that I feel privileged to have 😍

One of the issues I often encounter with my coaching clients is a feeling of friendships drifting apart. Sometimes people are scared of making new friends or keeping in touch with older ones. Who starts off the conversation? Maybe they're too busy with their new family and life. Before you know it, days turn into weeks, months, years...even decades... and the pressure you put on yourself increases. Often, everyone is waiting for everyone else to make the first move and have the same concerns that you do.

What tips do you have for getting back in touch or maintaining your friendships? Let us know in the comments

As parents, we often pour our heart and soul into raising our children. When they take the next step towards adulthood—whether that’s heading off to university or starting their first job—it can be a bittersweet moment filled with pride and excitement. Yet, it can also bring about an unexpected feeling of emptiness.

The reality of an empty nest can be more profound than we anticipate. After years of being deeply involved in our children’s lives, it’s normal to feel a sense of loss or disconnection once they’re off on their own adventures. Suddenly, the routines, the laughter, and the bustling activity of family life can feel replaced by quiet moments that, while peaceful, put us face to face with our own identities.

We may start to wonder:
🤔Who am I now?
🤔What is my purpose beyond being a parent?
These feelings are perfectly valid and are part of a significant transition.

It can be helpful to reframe this stage of life as an opportunity rather than a void. As we navigate through these mixed emotions, we might consider exploring new interests, fostering friendships, or even diving into professional development. Engaging in activities we have put on the back burner can rekindle passions and help us rediscover our sense of self.

Moreover, it’s essential to remember that our role as parents continues, albeit in a new and different way. We might find joy in supporting our children’s journeys from a distance, celebrating their achievements, and sharing in their experiences, even if that means offering a listening ear or imparting wisdom from time to time.

Last week I celebrated my birthday and my friends organised this treat for me 🎂

It is always a precious time catching up with friends. Many of them I have known since school. We have grown up together, going through life's joys and challenges. We can get nostalgic, talk about life now and celebrate our successes (and birthdays!)

The things that make me different are the things that make me - I couldn't agree more!
