What an awful start to GYS! I can’t believe it after yesterdays lovely weather! I’m taking some time out as trying to move around when GYS is on is always a challenge! That said, I am now at capacity, which is fantastic news and I am so very grateful for all of your support over the last few years! I do have limited availability for new clients who are elderly or have mobility issues. I will not turn anyone away who is struggling, so please do get in touch! The cost is £35 and I do a very thorough job (this is not a 15 minute nail service)! The weather might be turning cold wet and windy but it's certainly hotting up for me and my 'Foot Fixing' 😁! I'm busier than ever and the past few months my feet haven't touched the ground (definitely walking on air) 🤣 - I've reached a point now that one off and ad hoc appointment are no longer possible for me! Trying to squeeze someone into an already busy diary just isn't doable!! I appreciate that it isn't always possible for some people to book in advance but if it's a few weeks until I can get you in, then that's what it is - I really can't stretch myself any further - there is only one of me!!! Many thanks to all my regular clients who continue to support me and I love looking after, some of you I have been attending for a few years now and it's such a great part of the job to see the progress and keep on top of any issues! Lastly, on a not so happy note, I am having increasing problems with my breathing. Mainly due to dust inhalation from filing the nails and removing dead skin. The normal everyday cloth/paper masks have not been adequate, so I have now moved to a more substantial model (makes me look a bit like an alien but it does the job)! However, the other situation that really affects my breathing is attending clients who smoke at home. Much as I appreciate that this is their choice and their homes and nothing to do with me if they smoke or not, it is my choice if I put myself into a situation that affects my health. So sadly, if you smoke at home, I can't give you an appointment. However, if you ventilate the room / open a window etc, then that is a totally different scenario. Sorry if this offends anyone, it isn't meant to offend but I really must look after my health. Good morning all! I managed to break my shoulder in two places a few weeks ago and have been off work recovering. I'm delighted to say that I am now very much on the mend and am starting to book clients back in (slowly, so as not to overdo it)!! This is a huge shout out to all of my wonderful, supporting and understanding clients who have been patiently waiting for me to recover! I have been really humbled by how understanding, kind and supportive you have all been. I was really worried, when you work for yourself and something like this happens, it really is quite stressful - apart from the obvious pain, the worry that people may not be able to wait and go elsewhere!! Well I shouldn't have worried, I've lost a few (a very few) but those were new people who don't really know me and it was to be expected. But dozens and dozens of you have been hanging on and I am so very grateful! So those of you who are still waiting to hear from me - don't worry - I'm on it!! I'll be contacting you this week and getting you booked back in! Thank you all from the bottom on my heart for your loyalty - you are AMAZING! x

Visited a lovely new client yesterday. His feet were certainly in need of a ‘fix’!!! Here are the before and after pics (clients permission to post) - he was delighted with the results (and so was I) and more importantly, much more comfortable! Job well done Suzie Foot Fixer (even if I say so myself) 😂🤭🙃

On a more serious note - when our elderly relatives and friends are still living independently, it is so easy for something like this to go unnoticed! It isn’t neglect, or lack of care/attention at all! You just don’t look at an elderly persons feet unless it’s part of your job! I don’t think I ever saw my dads feet and only saw mum’s because I looked after them! With the NHS no longer able to offer routine foot care, please keep an eye on your loved ones - especially if they are limping, shuffling or unsteady as sometimes it can be something as straightforward as their feet! Please see my new price list below - this is my annual price increase and the first since the beginning of 2022 (I have not increased at all since the cost of living crisis)!
Medical Pedicure : £35 (this price is for an initial appointment with new clients and ad hoc appointments - for those clients who book regularly the price is £32) So basically to all my regular clients, the price has gone from £30 to £32, for those who do not want to book in regularly but would rather just call when they feel they need a 'foot fix' the cost is £35.

Morning everyone - hope you're all feeling well on this lovely sunny morning! My chest infection has cleared, however, on Sunday I tested positive for Covid so am still at home! The good news is that I feel totally fine (apart from a bit of a cough that is going) and certainly a lot better than I was with the chest infection!! Although it is considered acceptable to return to work with Covid, I will NOT go anywhere near a client if there is a risk of passing it on! We are never going to get rid of it if people continue to spread it (unwittingly or otherwise)!!! So, huge apologies to those who are still waiting for for an appointment, I will be getting to grips with my diary later this week, so if you are waiting to reschedule, expect a call soon! As I mentioned in my last post, I will be wearing a mask for the foreseeable future (you do not have to, masks are primarily to protect the other person) and as a lot of my clients are housebound, it's up to me to be responsible. Thank you all for you lovely messages, your understanding and offers of help (I have been truly touched). I am currently enjoying the sunshine, having dragged my armchair to the open french doors and am sitting drinking coffee and catching up with my admin!! Take good care everyone and I really do hope to be seeing you all soon ###

My humblest apologies for anyone who is waiting for an appointment (or a returned phone call). I've been out of action for over a week now with an awful virus that has just totally floored me! I hope to be back at in on Monday but with 6 full days of cancelled clients to reschedule - there may be a bit of a delay to my normal call back/booking in times! There really are some very nasty viruses going around so take care everyone! I'm back to wearing masks for the foreseeable, or at least until the spring is truly here. Do you have elderly relatives? Are they always in slippers, socks or shoes? Have you ever actually seen their feet? Do they shuffle or have difficulty walking? There can be many reasons such as long or thick nails, corns, callus (hard skin) or ingrowing nails that can be painful and make walking difficult! A lot of elderly people are reluctant to tell anyone as they ‘don’t want to be a bother’ so they keep their feet covered up! Check their feet, it’s so important especially if they suffer from underlying health issues such as diabetes! Ask to see their feet or offer to soak their feet for them (that's a good way of checking without being too obvious)!! Issues with feet can cause so many problems, especially with mobility! Please please check - it's so important and if they are in need of some care, please contact your local foot specialist. Suzie
