Are you guilty of sleeping in your contacts lenses? 👁️

Unless your lenses are specially made to wear overnight(such as Ortho-K), at no point should you wear them to sleep❌

The risk of doing so include:
- Bacterial Infections
- Corneal ulcers
- Corneal swelling or damage
- Dry eyes/irritation
- Inflammation
- Stuck lenses

Overnight, and even during naps, your lenses should be removed and tucked up in their case or disposed of if they are daily use only🛌🗑️

One of the best things about being an independent eyecare centre is getting to know our patients beyond just vision care💙

Today we want to take a moment to share a recent publication by one of our wonderful patients, Yvonne, who has written a book about the realities of autism. It provides an honest and down-to-earth perspective, speaking directly parent to parent, about her journey with her son Jonathan(who is also a lovely patient of ours!).

It’s truly a privilege to be welcomed into the many aspects of our patients’ lives, and we’re always thrilled to be able to support their endeavors whenever we can💙

Did you know glaucoma can progress slowly, often causing irreversible damage before you notice any symptoms? 👁️

Anyone can develop it, but certain factors like age, family history, or other eye conditions increase the risk, meaning regular eye tests are the best way to spot glaucoma early and protect your vision.

Routine eye tests should be at the top of your New Years Resolutions 📋✅👁️

We advise regular eye examinations for everyone including children, even when you are not experiencing any difficulties. In accordance with national guidelines the recommended intervals are:

~ Aged 15 years or below: Every Year��~ Aged 16 – 69 years: Every 2 Years��~ Aged 70 years and over: Every Year�
~ Diabetic and Glaucoma Patients: Every Year�
~ Aged 40 years plus with an immediate relative with Glaucoma: Every Year
