I've been asked a couple of times recently 👉 How much protein should I be eating a day?
Not a linear answer as we don't all have the same body, but it's not a difficult one to work out either.
• Find out your body weight in kg - double that number - and your answer is how many grams of protein your body requires p/day.
✍️ Body weight kg's X2 = grams of protein✨
• This answer is particularly important for females over 30 as our estrogen levels begin to decline - perimenopause/menopause/postmenopause -
❗Getting enough protein - for women becomes even more crucial as we age because it supports muscle maintenance and helps preserve bone density, reducing our risk of osteoporosis and frailty in later years.

• Are all protein sources are equal? 🥩🌱 Animal proteins are complete, offering all essential amino acids your body needs. While some plant-based proteins may fall short, you can still combine them to achieve a complete protein profile. Choose a variety of proteins for optimal muscle and bone health.

Gritty & Grace is a Strength & Conditioning, Flexibility - Mobility. Suitable for both the beginner to experienced exercisers.
▪️Strength 30 minutes - is a creative blend of weighted rhythmic resistance exercises, cardio challenging sections, mobility patterns and core conditioning exercises all set to fun music.
▪️Flow & Mobility (or Core) 25 minutes - Flow is a creative blend of yoga-inspired flows, balance sequences, and mobility. It offers modifications for all levels in the group exercise environment.

I’ve had a few new followers over the past few weeks so I thought it was time to reintroduce myself!

Hi 👋 I’m Jacqui, and I live in Tarbert , Argyll.

After 20+ years as a fitness and exercise professional and my own personal experience of burnout with CFS and my return to health, coming back out of lockdown I was more than ready for something new.
I took some time to refocus, trained in Women's Menopause and Exercise Coaching, Pelvic Health Coaching, and Level 5 Advanced Clinical Massage with the Jing Institute of Massage - which this year I also qualified with Jing in Advanced Myofascial Massage, TMJ Disorder Massage, Rib Abdomen & Thorax Massage, Positional Release, Oncology Massage, Table Thai Massage, and I even squeezed in a Cadaver Anatomy Lab workshop .

During my more recent learnings I've begun to fully understand nervous system work and how life changing it is - how without fully realising it, I had been working this way on myself for years.

🌿 Everything I do in clinic brings me back to my great foundation - Advanced Clinical Massage Training and using the biopsychosocial approach and a tailored treatment plan we can together achieve tangible results, such as reducing pain and restoring movement, rather than just providing relaxation.

I’ve got a 'little' more training lined up but not till next autumn, I'll tell you more about this when it comes around!

I've surprised myself how obsessed I have become with the science and advanced anatomy behind clinical massage. My work blends the best of grounding work, evidence based treatments, with a gentle and nurturing touch.

👐I currently work full-time as a Clinical Massage Therapist from my space in Tarbert, supporting clients with pain relief, grounding and nervous system regulation.
I also still teach a couple of group fitness classes, this brings me so much joy seeing women becoming stronger and empowered in themselves, and moving better with less pain.

I’m mostly booked until the end of this year, however I do still have a few limited appointment slots available before Santa arrives.
