Support Diana’s Medical Expedition to Tanzania!

Hi, my name is Diana, and I work in Reception at the Tarbert surgery. I’m excited to share that I’m fundraising for my upcoming Vine Trust Medical Expedition to Lake Victoria, Tanzania.

This incredible opportunity allows volunteers like me to work alongside local clinical teams aboard the Jubilee Hope, a fully equipped medical vessel. Together, we’ll deliver free, life-changing healthcare to communities living in severe poverty on the islands and shores of Lake Victoria.

The expedition is part of the Jubilee Hope Medical Programme, chaired by Dr. Claire Russell, who many of you will know as a Locum GP at our surgery. Through this programme, we provide essential clinical testing, treatment, and health education to people who would otherwise have little or no access to basic healthcare.

The next meeting of Tarbert Pain Group is next Thursday, 29th, 2:30pm at the Health centre as usual. No speaker this month but Ros Simons a sound therapist will come in June and Nina from West Coat acupuncture in July. I am away next week so my apologies for missing this session.

Termination of Pregnancy

From Saturday 1st February 2025 provision of all Termination of Pregnancy (TOP) services for patients resident in Argyll & Bute will be via the Sandyford.

The Sandyford service is available via GP or self-referral and all referrals should be made as per the details on the website https://www.sandyford.scot/sexual-health-services/abortion/.

- Part-time Healthcare Assistant - 18.5 hours/week
- Bank Reception/Administration to cover absence and holidays

Please note that Tarbert Medical Practice cannot accept Prescription requests by telephone. You can request your prescription in any of the ways detailed below:

- Using the re-order slip attached to your prescription. If the medication you require is not mentioned on the slip, you can write this on. These slips can either be posted into the box at the Surgery door, handed in to the receptionist or taken to Tarbert Pharmacy

- Using the online patient services system to order Prescriptions - please ask our Receptionists for details if you would like to register for this service

- email a request stating names and dosages of all medications required to the Practice email address: nhsh.tarbertmedicalpractice@nhs.scot

This policy is in place for patient safety reasons.
