Califly Doula As your Doula, my aim is that you will feel supported, cared for and listened to. My children were born through two wonderful, physiological home births.

Covering areas within 1 hour from Taunton across Somerset, Dorset and Devon I will keep and hold your birth space to your own needs and requirements wherever you choose to birth, whether this is at home, in your natural surroundings or in a hospital or birth centre. I believe, that you too should have the opportunity to naturally follow the rhythms of your body, mind and baby to consciously engage together so that your labour and birth outcome becomes your own positive experience. I have a calm, practical and friendly approach to life. I believe we are all responsible for our own health and therefore our choices and decisions should be recognised and respected. I also offer Mother Blessings, Reiki and massage. I have some knowledge of aromatherapy and homeopathy as I used these successfully for my own pregnancy and birth. I have a birth pool and accessories available to hire. See my Services section for more details. What does a doula do?
I would never claim to be an expert.
Every woman, every pregnancy and every birth is different. We are all unique humans.
You are the expert of your own body. You know how things affect you, how you respond to things and what supports you and your feelings.
‘Doula’ is a Greek word for ‘servant’ and as your doula we are there to be ‘in service’ to you, during this time.
A doula is there to listen and be guided by the support you are feeling you need. To walk beside you.
A doula has learned wisdom about birth and pregnancy and is there to learn about yours with you.

Focusing on birth as a Rite of Passage, the physiology of birth and many aspects of becoming a new mother.
This 6 week course has been designed to provide up-to-date information, practical support as you prepare and plan for your new baby and to welcome you into motherhood.

You are warmly invited to join at any stage of pregnancy as it is never too soon to begin your preparations.

This term will begin on Wednesday mornings from 10 - 11.30am
