Here are some special sadhana days for your calendar in March.
Eastern spiritual observance days are incredibly powerful—I highly recommend taking some time to tap into their energy.
If you're not quite sure how to practice the holy days of March, then here are some ideas.
For Holika Dahan, you can have your own bonfire, or burn a candle and do a trataka meditation (dhyana) using the candle flame for single-pointed focus. This is great to build concentration (dharana), and it's also used for yogic purification (shat kriya).
I'd also recommend reading up on the legend of Prahlad and Holika to connect with the root of the festival and the meaning behind it.
To practice Holi, you can read up on the story of Vishnu as Narasimha and his victory over Hiranyakashipu.
You can also incorporate Holi symbolism into your day by buying some gorgeous colourful flowers to represent the vibrant blossoming of spring. And you can also get some paints and play with watercolour painting to explore the beauty of colour.
And if you want to tap into your inner child, why not grab the face paints whilst you’re at it?!
Overall, March is a great month to focus on inner purification and letting go of conditioned patterns that aren't serving you so that your inner light can shine brightly.
It's also a great time to celebrate the turning of the seasons and to give deep gratitude for the beauty all around and within you.
