Next Step Independence supports children & young people aged 8-18 based in the South West of England who for whatever reason are unable to live at home with their families. The children and young people we support have often experienced high levels of trauma, neglect, and crisis in their young lives, resulting in them experiencing complex challenges. This can lead to multiple placements moves and

instability, leaving them feeling unsettled, scared and often unwanted. We believe that through the support of resilient, professional team members and in the right environment, every child and young person can thrive and reach their full potential.

Are you ready for a new role where you are making a difference to a child or young person life?

Our home teams, support young people aged 16-18, who for whatever reason are unable to live at home with their families.

We provide these young people with a safe and nurturing place they can call home.

We are looking for a kind and caring team member to join our amazing Registered Children's Home team in Swindon

Our homes are staffed 24 hours a day, so you'll be working a shift which is 16.5hr (includes a sleep-in). On average, you'll be working a minimum of 9 x 16.5 hr shifts a month.

OTE salary is £33,950.40, along with a £400 welcome bonus.

Today marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week.

The theme for this year is "Community" and how important social connections and supportive communities are.

Let us remember those who came home, wounded, physically and mentally, and the friends and family who cared for them.

One of our home team and their young people enjoyed an exciting day trip to London to celebrate a birthday!

They explored the Natural History Museum, Hamleys, Soho, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, and numerous other fantastic spots, capping it off with a meal at the iconic Hard Rock Cafe!

After covering around 25,000 steps, they certainly needed to recharge the next day!

Ooh we love to bake!

Here's the results of a recent baking session in one of our homes. Our young person wanted to make a lemon drizzle cake to celebrate their Father's big birthday milestone, so with the help of the team, they made not one, but three cakes!
