The Firs Care Centre is a 40 bedded care home located in Taunton, Somerset. We provide care for adults, offering a range of services including residential, nursing, and dementia care. We are committed to providing our residents with a high standard of care in a homely environment. Our staff are highly trained and experienced, and we are always striving to improve our services. We believe that everyone deserves to live life to the fullest, regardless of their age or ability. That's why we offer a wide range of activities and services to our residents, including:

Social activities: We offer a variety of social activities throughout the week, such as bingo, quizzes, and trips out. We also have a vibrant residents' association that organizes regular events and activities. Therapy services: We liaise with the NHS services to offer a range of therapy services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy. These services are designed to help our residents maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. Personal care: We provide our residents with personal care services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. We also offer a range of other services, such as hairdressing and foot care. Medical care: We have a team of qualified nurses on-site 24 hours a day. We are also committed to providing our residents with a sense of community. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who provide support and companionship to our residents. Marlene enjoyed creating her memory box 🤗

Marlene was born and grew up in Taunton.
She was a proud housewife and enjoyed cooking and cleaning for her family at home.
Marlene loves budgies and she enjoys cups of tea 🫖
Marlene has a grandson who is in the Marines of whom she is very proud 👏 💙

Joyce enjoyed creating her memory box 🤗

Joyce grew up in Reigate and remembers the good old times as little girl singing and putting on little shows in the air raid shelter to help lift people's spirits at such a scary time during the war.
Joyce loves animals, dancing and singing, she also enjoys collecting China dolls.
Joyce was a secretary for her husband who was an architect.

Brian enjoyed creating his memory box 🤗

Brian was born and grew up in Scotland.
He was a chartered surveyor and with his job he travelled to many different countries.
Brian enjoyed family holidays and in his later life he moved to Somerset and settled happily in a little village called Ash Priors.
Brian is a chocoholic and enjoys a glass of whisky 😄🥃

In a group, our residents enjoyed doing some maths followed by a variety of quiz sheets.
When our residents got a question correct, they were each given a pop stick, at the end of the session, whoever had the most pop sticks won 🏆
